Petition against SOPA

I think earlier this week Anonymous released a bunch of information on the people who voted yes for the NDAA. They should do the same thing with the SOPA supporters. Most of the these representatives needs an old fashion ass kicking and a reminder that there are way bigger problems compared to a couple of rich people losing out on a couple dollars that they probably wouldn’t have gotten in the first place.

… We lost.

Source?

We can’t lose.

Anon and Wiki will just be the beginning.

Spent from my Ocho, using Fapatalk.

Wait deadfrog your canadian?

I am so happy right now.

Indeed I am, having been birthed by the land itself, which is an overly poetic way of saying that I crawled up out of a hole in the ground.

Well it looks like I won’t be watching any more UFC or MNF anytime soon.

If more people shared your attitude we might actually stand a fighting chance.

It doesn’t really matter anyway because if this does pass, then the grits will hit the pan and America will become Fist of the North Star status. It won’t be pretty.

I’m not saying it’s absolutely dead or anything, but the fact that this hasn’t been passed yet is a pretty good sign, considering a few weeks ago it looked like a done deal.

Probably because they are starting to realize that without the internet a lot of things cannot be done i.e online businesses and online features for businesses

In america, you can basically do whatever you want, but you have to do it gradually.

I doubt it, and the real problem is something like this got this far in the first place.

This isn’t something they thought of on a whim. Corporations are set to potentially make a lot of money if this thing passes and unless people really fight against it, it will pass.

Corporations aren’t going to make money from this. This is a ‘protect your interests’ kind of thing.

In a roundabout way, by stopping piracy corporations will be making money.

SOPA isn’t going to help anyone rake in more bucks, but it will totally fuck some people up now.

The issue that the studios and music have isn’t the loss of sales with piracy, it is more of the shifting of power away from their distribution lines-- which is what let them get so powerful and wealthy in the first place.
Pharma jumped in for SOPA because it is the same thing for them since the internet is actually a true free market instead of having to get your shit from them.

Industry is just mad people are sniping out their purchases beforehand to see if they are worth it so they don’t end up picking up something they don’t enjoy.

Industry is mad because they overprice shit, make crappy products and instead of buying the primary, we download the primary and spend money on the merch attached to it. So in essence, pirating turned the entertainment industry into a Korean MMO with a Cash Shop.
