Do you guys use your JLF with or without shaft cover? Can the shaft really get rust?
All my jlf sticks came with them so I use them with the shaft cover. My ls-32 is bare and its been fine. Namco sticks are from 1996 and I haven’t seen any with shaft issues with these either. But I guess if your hands sweat a lot it can rust.
i used the same jlf for over a decade without a shaft cover and never saw any incidence of rust or any other form of wear. all of the jlfs i’ve ever seen at arcades didn’t have shaft covers either, and despite heavy public use, i didn’t see rust on them. as far as i’m concerned, it’s entirely a matter of comfort and aesthetics.
@Gaijinblaze yes, i prefer without SC cause i feel more comfortable with a thinner shaft between fingers. It’s kind a silly detail, i know…but i was afraid of rust and your comment helped me to make a choice. @ausomecrawl i appreciate your comment as well, thank you!
