Well my initial reaction is pretty hyped for the concept of playing my favorite characters from the persona series in a fighter. But after reading that the BlazBlue team is working on it in conjunction with the persona team, i immediately got worried. Because lets face BlazBlue just isn’t a strong fighter, no disrespect to the players or the makers of the series. Personally I think Examu is a better fit for a fighter that involves “arcana”-esque functions. Obviously I have my doubts and reservations. but this game is a long while off so it can sit on the back-burner for awhile.
It’s not about making games. Atlus is bringing KOF13 later this year, and now they are giving us a game based on a series which they did create. The last time Atlus published a fighting game was like almost 20 years ago (Power Instinct).
20 years ago? Try like 2 years ago, when the last Gouketsuji/Power Instinct game came out. :wgrin:
But yeah, it is interesting that Atlus is doing a bit more to play the fighting game now, standing to offer both ASW AND SNK goods. Atlus already has a nice slice of the JRPG niche reserved for them, so maybe they’re opting to try do similarly with the fighting game market too? I, for one, wouldn’t mind that much at all.
Not many folks realize that there are Gōketsuji/Power Instinct games outside of the original (if they’ve even heard of it at all) let alone that *Matsuri Senzo Kuyou *came out in 2009.
