Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena

I just like “Slab” more. Probably because I’ve been playing too much Borderlands 2.

Meh, just a thought, I see a lot of good points, mostly viability and the fact that there’s only 13 characters. Still, I go back and forth on Lab/Aigis and it’s working for me.

In other news, there’s a venue about to start weekly’s in my area for fighters, and I’ll be definitely be helping host/organize P4A and most of the 2D stuff. If there’s anybody in the middle TN area, I’ll have a lot of info in the next couple days ^^.

is the xbox version of P4A populated online cuz i want this game SO BADLY and thinking of getting it tomorrow with xbox live should i buy it ?

I’m not sure about here, but I know in Japan it’s DEAD.

XBox + Japan is never a good combination.

Yeah, no kidding. But most Arcsys games etc tend to do better on PS3 than Xbox. Actually, it’s kind of funny to note that in a LOT of cases, the ONLY games at tournaments that are played on 360 as opposed to PS3 when at all possible are Capcom games, primarily AE and Marvel. KOFXIII, SCV, Blazblue, P4A, Tekken Tag 2 (to what I understand), Virtua Fighter, and MK9 are all played on PS3 at tourneys. I’m not sure on Skullgirls though, so I’m not gonna even touch that.

I’ve been encountering a lot more matches with people who are way over my head in terms of ability and know-how lately while playing online, but there are still some people I’ve played against who seem to still be around my level, so the community can’t be completely distilled to the expert players yet. True, most of my games I end up encountering the same people multiple times and can only even hold my own consistently after seeing how they behave in the first match, but I’ve still had some fun back and forth matches as well.

It’s unfortunate to hear that it’s already dead for the most part in Japan. I was in Japan in March for a class trip, and from the couple of arcade towers that I visited, Persona seemed to be the most popular fighter at the time (I personally thought the Gundam Extreme Vs cabinets were awesome). Or is it only the 360 version that’s dead?

He’s just saying it’s dead on 360 in Japan.

As for here, online still seems fairly populated to me. PS3 is obviously moreso.

Shit, some nights it takes 30 seconds to find a game, some 10 minutes. There’s definitely people out there, and a good number, but matchmaking in ranked is helping me catch up on some reading.

Considering week 1 sales on xbox in japan were in the 9000s, it’s no surprise that it’s pretty dead on XBL there. The US doesn’t have this same problem, especially if you’re playing player matches.

Yeah i primarily use XBL and i can still get matches in fairly often when on Player Matches for US. Did Europe ever get the game yet?

You know, with netplay this good, someone should think about setting up some online tournaments.

no

I want to say its pretty dead on Xbox… I’ll run Into 4 or so people at a time…and I’ll have to play them for a good hour or so untill I’m tired of playing them, or finally a new person comes into the mix. Again, I still love the game.

Kind of tired of hearing its dead, lets just keep playing.I try to introduce it to my street fighter friends and they are like “meh”. I play everything so oh well.

Yeah, it’s kinda odd. Around here though, there’s a decent amount of people playing P4A soon, and what a lot of the SF/Marvel people are taking as their second game seems to be Tekken Tag 2 now since it’s the new thing.

Don’t know if this was answered but, am I able to install the game to my xbox hard-drive? Should I do it, is the performance improved at all?

I assume the answer is yes, since I can’t recall a game on XBox that wouldn’t allow you to do this.

All installing will do is save you the load time between games/character select/etc. There’s no performance increase in the game itself, since data is preloaded before each game begins.

Some Dustloop members are running ranbats for PSN and XBL, mostly east coast. Drum up enough interest and there’s no reason that couldn’t be expanded, if need be.

what does FC and CH mean in combos?

FC is for fatal counter CH is counter hit.
