Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena

Random wild speculative guess on the blue health: maybe some kind of “conditional” health, i.e. something like gray health from Focusing an attack in SFIV?

I REALLY like the look of it so far overall. Very slick, and the various bars/gauges/etc. all have a sort of visual loudness to them which works really well with the vibrant look of the characters and backgrounds. Of course, seeing it in motion will be key - bring on TGS!

Also, lol @ “Free Pray”

and again people bashing BB without a reason…
BB has good animations, stop saying stupid crap for god sake

if the game MUST play like BB I hope to god we at least get a decent announcer this time

edit: I’m also half-expecting Aigis to be this game’s Mu.

It really is tiresome. I mean, we all have games we don’t like, but… “stop-motion”? o_O

I still don’t see why so much bashing goes on on these boards, not just of BB but just in *general. *Certainly SFIV gets a TON of flak as well, more than BB in fact, at least as far as I’ve observed, and for some reason the release of 3SOE has caused huge numbers of people to rage about how bloody awful it is in their view. As I said, we all have games we don’t like, but kicking them in the teeth at EVERY opportunity is a very bizarre thing to do in my eyes.

Wh-

… okay, I will give you that BBCS has a pretty wonky announcer.

Teddie for announcer please. :shy:

Playable @ TGS.

They might wanna change that though… anyway it’s not something we’ll know until the game is out.

still hoping for a playable non-Persona character though. Serph or Raidou would be badass imo

From my experience the fighting game community in general is really bad about this. If you’re not discussing your personal favorite fighter then everything is absolute garbage that shouldn’t even be allowed to exist. Obviously not everyone is like this, but it seems to be way more common than with any other genre. It makes me ashamed to like fighting games sometimes.

I’m almost positive it will be Rise, since that’s her only role in the game.

It would be odd if they did, considering they made a whole 30 or so hour prologue to P3 about that very subject which they explicitly ended with telling you it would not and should not happen.

I personally do not think it should happen either, since it would ruin everything P3’s story was trying to do.

If my time here has taught me anything, it’s that SRK is generally full of haters and trolls. The best I can recall recently was when someone started posting shizz about 3SOE in a thread in Tech Talk where testing had proven that the game had the same input delay as the old Capcom arcade boards.

I have a general idea of what this is referring too but this isn’t the place to discuss this.

Besides, it’s a game designed by Arc, heaven forbid it feel like a game designed by Arc.

I was pretty hyped for this game until I remembered Rise’s japanese VA…Rie Kugimiya…

>insert table flip here.

Maaya Sakamoto’s Aigis will bring balance to the force.

I couldn’t stop playing any of the versions of P3 or P4 when I first got them, and I love the idea of a fighting game. A turn-based RPG almost will never get a fighting game, but my favorite RPGs of all time are? Nerdgasm to the millionth degree.

I’m most concerned about the netcode, not because of past Arc games (Blazblue had a pretty good netcode to my knowledge) but MK9 and most other fighters I’ve played but still loved online do have off the chain netcodes. If the gap between online and offline play is almost nonexistant, then this game gets a 20/10 on my review scale.

I’ll probably main Yusuke first since he’s always been my overall fav Persona character, but I’ll be sure to try the whole cast to see what fits my style. Would love it if this game made it to EVO too.

Confirmed: Is a Type-X2/NESiCAxLive game

Actually… i don’t know if this is good news for the game itself, Type-X2 has suffer one of the most brutal piracy attacks in Arcade history.

well, the game is gonna be ported to consoles sooner than others, lets say that its released on april since they more than probable would want to have it on SBO, even if they took their time, if they still go with a summer release, august is only 4 months later

Pretty much. After all, Atlus will likely want to make sure their Persona faithful can get their hands on the game as soon as possible. On good thing about the game being on NESiCA would imply that ASW won’t likely have to worry about pissing off Arcade operators on the same token.

you stopped reading 80% into the post? not bad…
><><
wish it was 2:IS and EP roster over 4 but i guess this is a safer play by them =[

Those “diamonds” are actually 0’s for the score in arcade mode, I was confused by that too haha.

Also, the bar under the health is probably the persona “assist” meter, from what I can tell.

Has the piracy actually affected business in any way though?

Most of the people who pirate these games are those who don’t have access to the games otherwise (aka everyone who doesn’t live in Japan)

I can accept people don’t like the same things I do, and like a normal person, and leave it be. You seem to have an issue where if someone is vocal about something they don’t like, its an attack on everything you stand for and believe in. Its my opinion of the game, and if the developers are handling a series I like, I personally do not want to see the things I hate about other games they’ve done in a prospective title. Its a fairly simple concept to understand.

As for the stop motion comment, If you watch games with smooth animation (i.e. in combos) like Melty Blood, SF, and AH3 then look at BB, you’ll notice that its just not the same. Watching a combo in BB is like watching a laggy SF match where you never see the start-up animation for anything, you just see the frames where contact is made with the other. Thats about as concise as I can make it.

the fact that you said that ah3 has smoother animation than BB is just hillarious, AH3 or for the matters the games of examu had awfully horrible animations
and the most funny part, is that you are complaining about the hit stop, not the animations, you dont even know what are you talking about, lmao
