Dang!!! That’s a lot for a fighting game!!! My hype for this game just increase 10 fold!!!
Didn’t really get to see evo footage. I’ve been watching JP vids from the arcades posted on Dustloop and Mayonaka midnight and thats about it. How did it go at evo? The most i saw was a few casuals that were very hard to watch considering the poeple playing were probably just getting used to the game.
sigh Blaz players…
Thanks for the clap. I would like some flowers as well, if you don’t mind.
I doubt they measure during speed runs (Clicking a button fast as you can to skip the dialog into the fights). Kind of defeats the point of story mode if you skip the dialogue and content. Might as well play arcade mode if you want similar results. I imagine they measure the amount of time when the characters completely finish their voice lines and average time of the cpu fights for the whole roster adding up the average of 30-40 hours completion (non-speed run) depending on the general pace of the player.
About that I know Blazblue said something similar about their story mode back then, however there is a key difference with Atlus doing the story(They made their rpg VN style stories pretty long).
Maybe they have a function for auto-scroll during dialogue and measure it like that. But what I wonder is if they measure time for the actual fights or if they do at all.
I wonder how that calculation comes up.
Like, what actually determines 30-40 hours of story mode? I suppose there’s only one way to find out…
They have someone time/calculate the average completions during the development of story mode so they can give the fans some positive press involving the length of their story mode (feels like a mini Rpg in length which would help fish in fans who only cared about the story content and not so much about the fighting engine)
I doubt they bothered calculating the average time of cpu fights which can last for a few min max. Its looking like the VN story telling will be the predominant quantity of the story over gameplay like how the rpg was
What about if they have choices to get various endings in story mode? They also could add all the time it takes from beginning to end without starting from a specific point besides the beginning.
Its possible since they did that with P4, but i doubt it. The rpg could get away doing this since their is a more “freedom” involved and choosing the true, neutral, and bad ends. However, it can be a possibility if you can select your dialogue choices like in P3 and P4 where picking the wrong choice for example can get Nanako killed (again) for a bad end. However, like i said i doubt they will bother with multiple endings for a story mode on the fighter game alliteration, even if its canon. It will most likely be a linear story telling from each character perspective (like with Skullgirls except its canon with way more content)
That didn’t really answer that.
Can’t help but think that this 30-40 thing is nothing more than a ploy to state in order to attract the casuals into this game.
Of course, that’s the point, but how true is it exactly is anyone’s guess till the game is out.
Alot of it was pretty painful but as the day went on it got better.
Would have liked to see a mini tourney or something
ahh thanks. After watching so many vids from tourneys in Japan it was painful to watch a few minutes of the evo footage.
Well if look at Atlus track record on their statements on how long there rpg games(especially the recent P4:golden) are (not counting optional side quests) they did not bs the casuals there. So its not exactly we got nothing on how the story mode will turn out, but yeah no one can know for* sure *until we actually play it thats a given.
I imagine there is a limit on how you can lie about whats in your game without getting unnecessary trouble. I mean you can’t claim you have 80 hours of quest material when you get around 8 (and your not even trying to speed-run)
First time most any of us get to try the game and it’s painful for you to watch?
Get bent lol
Yeah i did not find week 1 japan arcade play to be marvelous either. I mean people were getting hit by instant kills back then pretty often
The good ol’ days.
I thought persona 4 had a good story but I don’t think having a fight scene every 5 minutes is going to make it any better.
Gonna go totally off topic for a second here and just throw this question out there:
@PozerWolf, Is that Emma Stone as your avatar? If so, where is that from/what movie?
Now back on topic,
This will make the game 9001 times better.
sigh
P4A will be at SDCC and this is the 2nd year in a row I’m not going. Sad part is that I’m actually from San Diego.
Score attack Elizabeth is so nostalgic…she still nasty in this fighter. Makes Snk walk in park
