PERSONA 4 ARENA - Most played against character online is ..... because

The story of a grappler;) omg can’t wait to play!!!
Roll on the 7th eu release!!! ;@

Is Aki strong in the game if he’s so popular or just a first week character that people think he’s cool cos he just punches everything?

From what iv seen he seems like the weak member of the cast as his persona doesn’t really seem to have much use…
Obviously havnt played yet this is only from what iv seen

He’s really strong, just hard to use.

Personally, I’ve fought a fair amount of the cast except yosuke and shadow labrys. Yukiko and mitsuru really rustles my jimmies though.

All I see in the 211 games I have played is Yu, Mitsuru, and Akihiko. I have seen 1 other Aigis! On PSN. Yosuke pops up a bit too.

Ha omg, wide variety.
Sprinkle some chie in there and there’s a pattern.
Yu, Chie, Mitsuru, and Aki

if i play rank it’s normally akihiko, chie, yu, and mitsuru. playing in lobbies is the same thing until players start using naoto, aigis, and yuikiko against me since they think a projectile characters can stop kanji

akihiko’s all day every day otherwise its pretty varied.

BROFIST!!!

no one can stop the chair!

fuckin chair grappler dude and the boxer are the ones I come across most,

then there is the gay characters like kunai dude and yu being used a bit.

see some chie, but everyone I have faced uses only her auto combo so not too annoying.

only faced the others a few times.

Haha like the names

1-chie
2- kanji
3- yu

I’ve seen a* lot* of Akihikos and Naotos on PSN. Some Yu and Yusukes after that. In about 150 matches, I’ve only fought 2 Mitsurus, and 3~4 of the other characters.

I see about six characters on XBL.

Akihiko: Nearly all the damn time! It is at the point where I just assume my opponent will be an Akihiko player and this is usually apt.

Kanji: Fairly often. I’m one of them myself (and yeah, some of you have noticed I have a few bad habits with him that I need to correct) so I can’t ‘call anyone out’ on this.

Yu: Saw a ton of them on day 1 and 2, but only one of them actually knew how to play the character. Every other one was a ‘fireball and DP’ idiot, or someone who only used Ride the Izanagi Car/Dive-Slash mix-ups (which don’t work if they’re ALL you do). Now, I almost never see him.

Yosuke: See semi-often. Very frustrating fellow to fight.

Mitsuru: See equally often as I do Yosuke. Rage-inducing to fight. Interestingly, most of the people who rage-quit/drop on me are Mitsuru users.

Chie: Rarely. Only two of them have been any good and able to catch my bad habits. The others encourage said habits by blindly plowing into obvious tactics on my part. Whee.

I almost never see the other characters… and I’m sometimes left truly surprised by them. “Wow, I totally forgot that character existed!”

I was seeing a lot of Aigis on PSN at first but as of late it’s been:

#1 - Chie
#2 - Elizabeth
#3 - Yu

As I use Mitsuru, Chie and Yu are pretty easy to take care of, but Elizabeth can be frustrating once in a while.

I came across a bunch of mitsurus the a couple days ago, it was weird.

Im like “how the fuck do mirrors go down in this game?”

only one mitsuru was legit, and I remember one, that was constantly doing the UOH after every blockstring it got to the point were he was just throwing them out whenever I was near…idk how he got that much psr.

In player matches I seem to get a lot of Liz (which sucks because the matchup is ass for Akihiko) Chie’s (probably because shes super derpy) and Shadow Lab (people seem to love gimmick characters). Then in ranked its all Kanjis and Mitsurus. Day 1 I fought a decent amount of Akihikos but after that its like they fell off the face of the earth or some shit.

A lot of Yu. His combos are pretty simple, and you can derp very hard with his overhead special and persona. Once you have a basic handle on the game, he seems like the easiest to immediately start playing effectively. Out of the autocombo lot, it’s mostly Chie and Aki. Aki plays the most like a Street fighter character so people will cling to him.

I’ve been seeing a lot more naoto’s lately. I dunno if people just decided to try her out or if I just keep running in to the same handful of people. Other than that it seems like Kanji, Mitsuru, and Chie are the most popular.

What exactly makes S.Lab anymore of a gimmick character than any other? The game is pretty much built around the idea that everyone has a gimmick, which isn’t a bad thing.

Lots and lots of Akihiko here on PSN. I honestly don’t mind though, since he’s one of my favorites to watch.
