People Who Use Internet Memes In Real Life

it’s not apples an oranges. It’s pop culture schlock. No one who quotes star wars is making any deeper a social comment then one who quotes an internet meme. Just like anything it’s about frequency of use. No one likes anyone whose entire vocabulary consists of movie quotes either.

so you disregard anything coming from the internet as “without substance” per se? interesting; tell that the guys from the arab awakening…
you should not judge the content by its source, but by itself. whether you find it good or bad, is up to you, but that statement is general ignorance.

QFT

So somebody quoting a shakespere or mark twain equates to somebody saying “lol”. Even though movies are a product of pop culture, many old time movies are much more substantive than a random internet forum. dumbass.

Who said anything about saying the internet lacks substance. People who speak in those terms present comments that lack substance. Don’t be twisting my words around. I said “internet speak”, beans for brains. Not everyone who uses the net, speaks that way on a constant basis, or at all.The only reason you’re saying anything is because you’re one of those people who go around saying it in real life. Instead of trying to justify it and make it sound more important than it is, perhaps you should take into account what people are saying and find sense within that.

so quoting any random RL-jerk is better then the statement of Julian Assange?
see what I did there? it’s not “this” or “that” - it’s inseparable woven together. it’s simply another medium.

THE SOURCE DOES NOT MATTER. THE CONTENT DOES.

If you’re not gonna pay attention, then don’t respond to my post. If one chooses to respond to such information with “u mad bro” and “troll”, then perhaps they shouldn’t be contributing to such conversations and stick to mtv.com or something. Again, like I stated in my previous post, I’m not talking about articles you find online. I said "internet speak, as in use of memes and cliche slang terms, not people who use the internet as an information medium.

Ahh, the memestream indundation falling of Chuck Norris ever since Conan had his lever.
It’s a shame most only know him by the lame ‘facts’ memes nowadays.

On the bright side, he’s back to acting and is looking a little less grey. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was refering to this:

you mixed up those things. but fact is, you can’t depatch them into “internet speak” and “internet source” per se. a forum is as much an “internet source” as youtube-movies are. it’s fine when you want to stick to your finest english when you speak, but don’t you dare to use “o.k. / okay” because that’s an abbreviation aswell - just as “lol”. you simply lack objectivism in that matter - you have that “internet terms belong to the internet; anyone who uses anything of that in real life is a geekish nerd”-thinking. come back in 20 years, see which terms you see everyone using then. speak however you want, but let others do aswell.

and btw, I think ppl who frequently abuse ANYTHING (inlcuding your “internet speak”) are just as annoying as you do. but I don’t get angered when someone responds with “lol really?” when I tell them a story, because I might answer the exact same way. languages lives and will alter - if you like it or not. be it derived from a foreign language, a transitive word, an abbrevation or an internet term.

Word of the Day: Memestream

Ah look who’s gettin all touchy about this fuckin shit. I didn’t even insult you either. I will now tho. Shut the fuck up you little shit stain. Someone stealin Shakespears words has nothing more interesting to say then someone jackin an internet meme. They’er just jackin someone elses words in order to get approving nods from people who know the source. No one remembers Mark Twain because he quoted someone else. They remember him for having something original and Poignant to say.

But you go right ahead and continue riding your high horse like your some smart mother fucker when all you are is a stupid piece of shit who continues arguing with Clu2 like a moron, too fucking dumb to see that he’s trollin your ass all day long. Stay free fuck head.

So… G4 T.V. trope > Internet meme?

Hmm… I don’t think that there is anything wrong with using words or phrases in the hobby you are into. BUT, when you are with someone/people that you only have 1 thing in common with and your conversation is completely filled with said hobby terms. Like FGs for example. Saying free/salty/0-10 matchup in ****public . Thats where the issue begins.

Dude i’m done talking to you, your logic is totally flawed. Now you’re just trying to reach for responses. So everything on the internet is relevant to the next thing huh? Does that make youporn and this site the same thing? People post opposing viewpoints all the time, but since they’re on the internet they’re saying the same thing? If I go to webmd it’s similar to going to sears.com?

Go and try and have a conversation with someone speaking in meme or write a college papaer in meme, and see how much respect you’ll get for it. On top of that, just because you say something is gonna be a certain way in twenty years, doesn’t make it a reality… The only people who will talk like that would be people who cant think for themselves.

Aint no high horse over here you dumbfuck. I just cant stand know-nothing ass m fuckers bumping their gums as if they’re informed. F you and your manufactured remarks son. It’s idiot like you that are the reason special ed classes exist, you have nothing to contribute. There’s a difference between flat out stealing someone’s work and making a reference to it. I’d much more rather hear somebody reference a phrase from book or a movie than hear some idiot spew out memes left and right. When people speak of those things at least they’re not speaking like some mindless ass zombie. These are people that don’t have a single damn thing to say. And if “stealing” is such a big concern to you, then don’t speak in slang and don’t use cliches then. Instead your post are riddled with them

the internet is the new zeitgeist. deal with it :coffee:

your response to the guy above is everything that needs to be shown. you’re nothing but a badmouth who likes to blame others, who is immune to reason and in genral nothing but a ignorance douche.

“stay free” - and yes, I’d totally call you that IRL.

I was listening to Devo.

blame others? are you retarded or something? really nothing you say relates to anything anyones been saying. It’s like you’ve got wires crossed or something.

Btw stay free isnt a meme you idiot. That’s a slang term that cats have been using for ages. at least know what you’re talking about idiot.

Wow…that’s not even close to what I said you stupid shit. Throw the tard classes line at me and yet you can even decipher a simple fucking post.

I did say shit about stealing. I said quoting someone else is no more witty, clever, or worth remembering them someone pops off a Meme in simple conversation. I don’t care if you jack Shakespear. Just don’t think it makes you smarter or better then a Meme user you Flamming Mammoth of Dicks in the mouth.

Fuck your stupid.

Why are you saying “Shaking my head” you can just do it?
Why are you calling me bro? I’m not your brother
Why are you calling females “chicks”? they are not chickens
Why are you calling me “Nigga”? Its not too far from nigga

I find some of you guys funny. You guys are trying to indicate what a devolving trait is while maintaining( Im assuming) a worldview which holds no objective absolute that can classify an “evolved trait”. And yet, you’re trying to separate language preferences from “evolved” and “devolved” without any objective absolute to back that up but rather, only a subjective viewpoint which you’re tryna objectify. I find this hilarious.

Anyways this thread is dumb and the folly of those who are trying to stroke their egos with subjective matters while holding a worldview based on the same thing are foolish.
Such is the nature of Man
/thread

Lol, you’re a fucking idiot dude. Must have selective memory or something. And one can’t “decipher” a post, you’re not speaking in code.
