Hmn… Since SBO is going to have CfJ Im just wondering where are the players that actually play this game (seriously) at in the country.
Edit: Please, for all of the people that dont like cfj… dont post in this thread… Their are at least 20x cfj bashing threads no need for another. Right?
I wish Felicia didn’t take damage so horribly. She has some really neat high-low mixups except she does crap for damage.
IMO CFJ isn’t really getting played because not everyone has a PS2. When you hold a console tournament, there’s quite a few people out there who don’t know how to play and probably don’t want to learn since they do not have a PS2. It would probably get a better response if it was available in US arcades. Probably the same lukewarm response CvS1 or SSF2 got.
IDK ive been to one tourny in Wash and we had like 14 or 15 people, something along those lines. Obviously more people play it since it sold somewhat decently, I just dont think people want to admit it.
More people have PS2’s then people who go to arcades, not to mention most people who go to arcades have a PS2.
I play the game, and probably the only one where im from who wants to get really good at it. My friends play but mostly for fun. I usually end up with 20+ win streaks and then they get bored and put something else in. So its rare we play. I like the game, iono its just me. Ill be playing it at the Texas Showdown 5. Probably be one of my few chances at some real comp at it with people who dont think it sucks.
My friends and I like this game, though I don’t get much of a chance to play them considering I have to drive an hour just to get some casuals. We might be going to Texas Showdown, and I’d like to play some other people.
I play Ryu, but not consistently. I’m mostly about Ingrid these days.
If you read through the Ingrid thread we have in the CFE section, Peachy and a few others do a pretty good job of laying out her moves and all the uses for them.
As far as the DP kick… I use it as anti air sometimes, its situational. Its nice to use against wide jumpers like Gief and Anakaris, but it can be air blocked. Its decent wake up, but she has betters stuff. I sometimes go a match or two without using this move. Like I said, its a situational move. Its not an answer all wakeup or AA by any means. Use sparingly.
i really like cfj for some reason, its just a nice little game with some nice characters and a bit of a breath of fresh air after playing the same stuff for a long time(yes i know its still basically the same stuff )
i like team things though but i think team cfe would get a bit different as
it would still have to be separate matches, unless you collaborate on which
player/character is gonna start the round
HAUZER loves cfe for it gives other skulls for hauzer to crush with little crushy head which hauzer easily crush with turkey feet of STOMPING, hauzer use deluge crisis for it is a rainforthing flood of BEATINGSn period it son
I really like the game and play it a lot and when I don’t play it the game calls out to me “play this game and learn some more combos!” Hasn’t been a fighter that’s made me feel that way in a long time, since SF3 Third Strike was new. Most of the time I use my Ryu and Chun-Li team (obviously, look at my Avatar, LOL!) but I switch it up now and then. My other teams are Vega(Cape) and Jedah, Mukuro and Demitri, Ingrid and Sakura, but I honestly try to learn to play with everybody. The Gameplay is really tight if you give it a chance, and that should be the most important thing when judging a game. Ah well, Play magazine gets it. They gave it an A -, nominated CFE for fighting game of the year even if it didn’t win, and Editor Chris Hoffman named it as his #2 favorite video game of the year so CFE fans, we are not alone. Some of us old school and hardcore gamers actually get it.
