I remember hearing once on the radio this study about how people with unpopular names tend to be less successful in life than people with more ordinary names. Kinda wack cause I think it’s a bummer to feel restricted to naming your kid something common and boring to make sure people don’t judge them unfavorably. At the same time I feel bad for kids who are named something like “krystofer.” Thats annoyance by design for the rest of that kids life.

Krystofer, Kristopher, Kris… I’ve met so many ‘Christopher’ variations growing up - each one gets offended if you don’t spell it the way theirs is the first time, every time.

I know a girl named ‘Keeli’, who has a daughter named ‘Kali’ and is due to have a baby this year she’s going to name ‘Molli’. Keeli I can see, it’s not a super-common name anyway. Butchering common spellings of the names: Callie and Molly though, really?

its interesting when you got african decended people like brazilians who deny they have black in them. i remember when i was thirteen and the brazilian girl at the end of my block when i was a kid told me this exact phrase “i dont have any ****** in me.” that shocked me…we had always been cool…she had never said anything like that. but members of her fam were as dark as me, so i didnt get why she would say such a thing.
