Which just goes to show Einstein had it right.

No Idea, my name is kevin, so I’ll never have issue, everyone in my immediate family has normal names, nothing crazy.
Race is just a social construct.
With that said, it is interesting that people would rather deny being the product of multiple races and instead would rather identify with being one. Obama and/or Obama critics do the same thing. Despite the fact that he has a white mother and was predominantly raised by white people.
This kid is still young. Plenty of people gradually become darker in skin tone as they grow older. I know I did. Is she going to be white for the first 16 years of her life then suddenly be cooked enough as to be considered black?
I don’t know. These delusions seem par for the course in our country. I don’t see the hub bub, bub. I do find it kind of funny that she considers being a black woman who she is, not what she is though.
Her views are understandable. If that child went to a school with white people who do you think the other class mates would view her? They’d see her as different and they’d call her a n*gger when they want to insult her.
You could give your child an ordinary first name which would go on the application forms and such, then give him a powerful black name. A lot of my African friends have names like William, Mark and over garbage along those lines but they go by their middle names with friends/family.
By normal, you mean white, right?
And by white, you mean of probable Judaic derivation.
Kevin, however is Celtic or of Erin.
So you are Black Irish, Kzoh.
As I see it.
That actually brings up a good point. Generally, naming conventions within a certain ethnic group are derived from some historical/religious reference within that culture, or the name is a translation of something univeral (flower, love, strength, etc). I can understand how/why some white kid gets names James Smith. Or how some Chinese kid gets named Lee Wong. There’s historical/cultural context to those names. But when I see a black kid named Boonsheeka Laquita Jones, I’m curious to know if there’s some African context to that name.
Ethnicity is pretty flexible with it coming down to what you feel you are more than anything else. But whatever, last people that need to be discussing this topic is SRK.
Fixed.
I have yet to have seen Black guy say, “You know that Blake Griffin? That’s one bad-ass white boy”.
My dad, uncles and aunts where Black/Irish/German and not once has anyone said that they were white, but in those times, yes, people like my uncle Paul who is similar in appearance to Blake Griffin had that “never accepted by Blacks or Whites”. My dad didn’t have that problem because his hair was darker, curlier and his complexion was a few shades “from being high yellow”.
Case in point, that’s an old, dragged out mentality that will always be wrong but will always be around.
I didn’t even read the rest, this is pretty much how i feel.
Surprised you didn’t hear it in school, plus you need to watch which ironically stars Halle Berry playing as the daughter of mixed woman and a white man. Also watch Imitation of Life.

I suppose it started during the civil rights movement. People like Malcolm X who regretted their names because it was forcefully put upon their ancestors from the white slave masters. The ones that came over here from Africa had their name changed so it was more “normal” and “comfortable” than their African names. Malcolm changed his born last name to just X and these new black names are a show of appreciation of heritage and rising above the oppressive past.
I guess maybe that’s why I can’t get a job right now. I have a ghetto name.
I wish I could remember fuck all, but there was this white guy on this comedy show (white guys N the hood?) where they’d put white comedians into a predominantly black club, and they’d do some damn good racial humour.
Anywho, the dude said something along the lines of “there’s a reason I wanna be black, and it’s not just for all the asian pussy. It’s so I can name my kid whatever the fuck I want”
anywho,
Let’s discuss more important things. I’ve never found Halle Berry attractive with her ugly ass lesbian haircut. She needs to grow her hair out longer, MUCH longer. Every time I see her my dick goes limp and I think to myself: “dyke”.
Until then, Beyonce and Keri are just better looking.
Beyonce was ALWAYS better looking.
She has proper curves.
As I see it.
lmao
Kwanzaa
This cannot be real.
man, you’re whatever you wanna be. I’ve known people (like myself) who are like 1/8th native or some other fraction, yet they will look into that heritage. If it means something to you, so be it. If not, that’s YOUR choice as well. FFS, I’m Yugoslavian/Polish/German/Hungarian/French/Native. Wanna call me white, I sure as hell think of myself as white. I pretty much obviously am. But I still have respect for the Native part as well.
Is it me, or did this thread title change?
edit: to the post below:
I find it odd celebs and athletes have uncommon names. Tiger, Kobe, LeBron, etc…
I’m gonna name my kid Homerun Touchdown, then there’s no way he won’t succeed in life
I remember hearing once on the radio this study about how people with unpopular names tend to be less successful in life than people with more ordinary names. Kinda wack cause I think it’s a bummer to feel restricted to naming your kid something common and boring to make sure people don’t judge them unfavorably. At the same time I feel bad for kids who are named something like “krystofer.” Thats annoyance by design for the rest of that kids life.
I know the origin of the name, If your name is of african origin it’s fine, most of these names sound retarded and are not of african origin.
