Funny thing is. I’m the least Arabic guy you will meet. I’ve been assimilated by western culture. I don’t even speak Arabic and don’t even relate to them because there’s an obvious culture clash lol.
@Tataki: I’ll never lie about my origins. If you’re a racist fuck I wanna know before I get involved with you. I don’t need morons in my social circle.
Thing is, Quebec is so racist that almost 50% of Anglos don’t feel like they belong. There’s this constant French Vs English vibe here. And the French pretty much hate everyone.
Don’t let it bother you. Things have been pretty chill lately, but I’ve had a good amount of them throughout life. Black and rican guy here.
I remember when I’d feel bad when some white people would cross the street (I’m not threatening looking at all) just to continue walking once they saw me. I was just minding my business walking down the street, but I guess they probably had a bad experience or something. There were times when I’d be looked at closely in the store to the point where I pulled my money out just so they would be comfortable with the fact that I’m not gonna steal anything. Meanwhile, there were *actually *suspicious people in the store taking shit. Have had cops quickly draw guns on me because they thought I was a suspect in a robbery. There’s more, but those quickly came to mind.
We’re all judgmental to an extent, but some people take it to a whole new level. Best thing to do is keep living your life and not let the ignorance get to you. It’s all good.
People put too much focus on race and ethnicity and nationality in general, but that’s not surprising given that, as Hatred Edge said, people are largely excrement.
Oh well. Like you said, you basically dodged a bullet by not lying about what you “are” right away, so no loss there.
I’m from Quebec too, there are racist people everywhere. Funny how people that don’t care about hockey are the only people that are against the idea of the Habs hiring an english speaking only coach.
And you sound like a moron. I don’t need to prove anything to you. Let’s agree to disagree.
If you knew how to read you would know that she’s the one that initiated a conversation with me.
Racism will always shock me because you have no idea what Arabs are going through at the moment. Whether it’s women or getting a good job, it’s becoming harder and harder because of prejudice and bigots. Popularity has NOTHING to do with it.
You fail to see the point. I don’t care about the girl. I care that people make me feel unwelcome in hometown and those same people make everyone else’s life harder.
