Taking away the wins is the only thing that seems a bit over the top simply because the NCAA can’t straight up erase reality. I get the reasoning behind taking away the wins, but still, they played and won those games.
did you just pull that out of your ass? because it’s not corroborated by anything.
it’s actually kinda funny that the wins that got vacated were the ones that happened AFTER sandusky left penn state.
lol @ this guy’s autobiography being titled “touched: the jerry sandusky story”, dude was confessing years ago just nobody paid attention.
I would like to see that 60million evenly go to the victims. You cant place football games over the lives of people. When you preach ownership and integrity then you turn ya head what example are you really setting/showing.
Im shocked they just didnt shut down football all together. Im still wondering how peeps knew and just let it go down morally i couldnt look at myself in the mirror.
Did you read the Freeh report? That’s all the corroboration you need. They were actively trying to negotiate Sandusky out of being the next head coach and pretty much buy him out quietly because of what happened, and in the midst of all of that, and years following, he was still allowed to use their facilities to fuck little boys. They got those wins in the midst of a massive cover up between 4 or 5 people including Joe Paterno.
And his book was really named Touched? god fucking damnm…
SANDUSKY retired 15 years ago and was collecting his pension…PATERNO negotiated a buyout for HIMSELF in exchange for retirement.
cliff notes: when the grand jury called joe pa into testify, he decided to gtfo of dodge with as much money and perks as he could for himself and family.
(Sandusky indeed wrote a book entitled Touched and, considering his supposed ego, it probably was intentionally a “joke”.)
Geez, I wonder if anyone is like 100% satisfied with the punishment because everyone either seems to feel either was too severe or not severe enough even if they agree with parts of it.
Not that people are ever 100% satisfied with anything.
I see. Fair enough point for the most part… I’ve hardly been following this as closely as people who are actually interested in football, so it would appear I misunderstood a bit. Despite my…distaste still with your earlier phrasing that football program was blameless, thank you for the corrections. (Assuming, of course, that’s accurate, but I don’t care enough about this to start doing independent research. At least just yet.)
That said, what would you have preferred the NCAA to do here a) that’s actually within its power and b) actually punishment enough to deter schools from trying this bullshit again for the sake of a sports program?
Okay. Can you dumb this down for a dumbass, and explain how games that actually and honestly happened-- stats and recordings and all-- didn’t “happen?” I totally understand why they put the hammer down, but I don’t understand how the NCAA plans to deny factual events and ignore a large portion of football history going forward.
They take the wins Pen state got and give them to the teams that lost.
Pretty stupid really.
Most alive now will know Penn State won them, but future generations wont.
Talk about plotting…

Yeah erasing reality is pretty retarded but whatever.
Lets be clear here. When it comes to these scandals at the schools and their sports something ALWAYS happen among the current students. No shit holmes. It happened at USC, It happened at Miami (kinda), It happened at UNLV It happened to schools across the country. Unfortunately the point of the “current students” is entirely moot.
No they do not, the other team does not get the wins. The games basically just never happened.
