Pelican Real Arcade fo XBOX > PS3

Hey Guys,

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have two Pelican Real Arcade sticks for the ORIGINAL XBOX. I want to use them on my PS3. Can someone tell me the easiest way to accomplish this?

Is it possible to use a xbox to ps2 converter and then a ps2 to ps3 converter? Or do I have to install a new board and do some soldering? Hopefully the former.

Thanks for your time.

Is the stick only for Xbox or the one for PS2/Xbox/GC? If it’s Xbox only then you may be out of luck. If it’s the multi-system stick you should be able to use a converter with the PS2 connector.

Hi Kyle,

It is labeled as ‘for XBOX’ in the bottom left hand corner. Am I completely SOL? If so it sucks because they are both modded with aftermarket sticks and buttons.

depends on what route you want to take. you want to go wired or wireless? you on a tight budget?

Not on a budget per se. I can put some money into it to go wireless or wired. I would obviously prefer wireless granted there wasn’t any delay and it wasn’t ridiculously expensive.

Bump.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Surely. There isn’t an Xbox1 to anything route other than PC USB which requires drivers. This won’t work on the PS3. Your best bet is to swap the PCB with a Cthulhu

Look for Axis-adapter(wireless) or Cthulhu(wired). Axis adapter connects to the usb port on a dual shock 3 and provides terminals to connect your buttons and joystick to. Cthulhu is a pcb board that’s compatible with ps3.

Spring for a MC Cthulhu and a female USB to male XBox1 cable and you have a PS3 stick and can retain the XBox functionality (if that’s an issue for you).

Would be no soldering, just put the signal/ground wires from the joystick/buttons into the MC Cthulhu’s screw terminals.

Thanks lot for everyone’s input!

I ordered 2x MC Cthulhu pcb’s.

[EDIT: I will make a new thread concerning the issue below]

A little off topic but I could not find any threads on it already…

Both of my Pelican Real Arcade sticks are falling apart aesthetically. The black trim on both of them is pealing off in various places exposing particle board. Has a solution for this type of thing been discussed before or can someone recommend what I can do? e.i what materials and tools I would need to fix it.

I also thought it would be real nice to put a piece of plexiglass over the top of the stick. (though that would not solve the trip coming off the sides)

Please let me know if I should and i can make another thread on the topic.

Try mamemarquees, or search the Tech Talk forums - there was a guy who expressed interest in making plexiglass covers specifically for the Pelican stick (I’m too lazy to search for it right now).

If you go looking to buy some more it’s referred to as t-molding. I’m not certain what size you will need but there are retailers who sell it online. No clue if it can be purchased locally.

crap, I forgot about this thread. I would say the single easiest wireless mod to do is wireless PS3. I can think of 3 routes off the top of my head; two are practically identical, and the third is the most versatile. If you go with a Toodles or ShinJN AXISdapter, it’s about as simple as it gets: one Sixaxis or Dualshock PCB + AXISdapter and you’re done. No soldering required, all you gotta do is strip wire, crimp on QD’s, and you’re golden. Will cost you roughly $50 for both boards.

The most versatile route would be to go with Gummowned’s Leo board + Sixaxis/Dualshock PCB + Wireless 360 PCB. This allows you to setup a wireless dual mod for both the 360 and PS3. Gumm charges $25 for his Leo board, and $25 for a Sixaxis/Dualshock PCB; you gotta provide your own wireless 360 PCB. If you’re lucky, you can score one from as low as $15, to an average of $30 or so. Most pad hackers charge somewhere around $40-45 to hack a wireless 360 PCB, too. You can check with a dude named HarumaN (google him) for that padhack; I’m sure there are others, but I’ve dealt with him and personally recommend his work. This mod is the most expensive, and requires the most work, but is ultimately the most rewarding, IMO. Good luck!
