PC Street Fighter 4 benchmark tool released

Not bad. got a B in window mode and an A fullscreen on an old 7950 gx2. Gameplay was always 60fps and seeing as my cpu/ram are currently underclocked I’m happy. Can’t wait for the game.

Skulltrail?

my projector computer has the specs to run SF4 easily, but it runs linux

What a lot of you guys are missing is that this is a benchmark utility. That means it draws EVERY frame no matter how slow or fast your computer is drawing them. That’s why when your PC is powerful it’ll go uber fast and if it’s slow it’ll play like a scene from the Matrix.

When the game launches I’m sure framerate will be capped/speed will be throttled, and frameskip will be activated. If your computer is slow you’ll be missing frames, not playing in slow motion. The game will drop frames in order to keep the speed up. Similarly, even if your PC is a beast, it’ll never play like the fast forward function on a VCR. Netplay would be a nightmare if it wasn’t set up like this.

Some performance tips:

Set backgrounds and characters to high if you want things to look good. Everything else is fluff and can have a somewhat major impact on performance without adding much visually. Set those to low or off, and your game will still look pretty sweet. Use fullscreen. Resolution has the BIGGEST impact on performance, so if you can’t bear to part with those nice visual options, then lower the res instead.

V-sync is EVIL. It prevents tearing, but can really impact performance. It’s silly to enable it all on the benchmark because the point of a benchmark is to see your PC’s top speed, and v-sync caps it at 60fps (on most LCD monitors anyway). AA isn’t very optimized either, so if you’re using a less-than-beefy card don’t bother. I didn’t notice much of a performance hit from using 16x AF though.

Can’t wait for this game to come out in July. =D

Just with background and chars on high, everything else turned off. I got a C rating with everything maxed, still had a decent FPS average. Hopefully now people pick up the PC version of this

Wine. I’m actually going to do this most probably one day (assuming it’s possible, that is), as my main machine will soon become Linux-only.

Default with display up to 1080, fullscreen, and vsync disabled.

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 @ 2.7GHz
Memory: 3328 MB

Portable SF IV :looney:

Need more laptop results! So we can decide which is ultimately the best carry around laptop for SF4

Looks like we would need a 9800M, since someone’s 9600M could barely handle it…

wow an E for my laptop that i bought six months ago …looks like no pc street fighter for me …looks like sf4 on pc will have more connection problems then ps3…

I will be running the benchmark on my laptop shortly.

  • Asus G50V-A1. 9700gt.

Results hopefully in an hour or so.

it seems liek nvidia drivers are causing me problems with full screen with AA enabled.

any 1 with the same nvidia drivers running 1080p with aa(any value) have probelms?

with no aa

aside from the aa issues this is the top version makes the console counterpart look like a snes.

any 1 with AA troubles with nvidia cards, needs to update to beta drivers which i can confirm work with any aa setting full screen

i ain’t whinin, ho! i love me some Mythbuntu  i was saying it more like a “sucks for me” type thing. my comp is 6 years old  i’ll probably buy SF4 through Steam and if it doesn’t run, upgrade my stuff :bluu:

Figured I’d put a little more than a simple screenshot, here’s the tool running on my WIP MAME cabinet:

Specs of PC:

Athlon 64 5000+
2GB RAM
GeForce 8800GTS 640MB Video card (from my current PC, which now has a Radeon 4890)

Got a B when running at 640x480 (resolution of the WG monitor in the cabinet) with settings maxed except for AA, which was off.

You clearly dont know linux based system… Wine is a software on linux systems/Mac OS that allows you to run Window based programs on Linux.

Using Wine you can run Street Fighter 4 natively on Linux without needing to a Windows based OS (dual booting).

Secondly… the “wine” you’re thinking of is as you spelled it… “WHINE” >__>
