i loveeeee the pc version. got it on steam sale and theres literally no delay when I’m playing online so far unless the other person is having some internet issues.
I guess I only play against people with internet issues then. :looney: Pc version doesn’t use GGPO, there is always some delay.
On PC I can usually find a few decent players with a stable connection in the evening, but it can be sparse at times and some people bail after like two matches even when there’s hardly anyone on. Normally my strategy is to pick my main and take the matches seriously whenever I see good players on.
That said, it’s not nearly as annoying as XBL, where it’s just a constant barrage of laggy players and slow load times. I’ll play through a total slideshow of a match and when it’s over the other player eagerly tries to face me again, like the unplayable joke I just experienced was all in my imagination. I live in Northern CA, my 360 is wired directly to the router, yet I find the average level of lag completely intolerable. Maybe it’s because my character is very reaction dependent, I don’t know. Most of the really tight timing stuff I can do such as dash ultra is just impossible and thus XBL is a waste of time for me.
PC version is the better version but the population is smaller and much of it is an army of shotos. Variety is hard to find.
connection and character variety depends actually on your location. I can only speak for myself but in central europa the multiplayer population is awesome. decent matches with stable and fluid cross-border connections and many character specialists even for unpopular ones.
I guess that’s not the case for the USA though.
I have to agree, I had more laggy matches on PC then on Xbox Live so far. And I can’t for some reason do my 1 frame links at all with Balrog.
i agree …just QQ (alt-F4) on selection screen if you bump any ryus.
does anyone here own both the ps3 and pc version? if so, how much bigger is the ps3 community online? the pc version can be dead sometimes during the middle of the day
Compared to PSN the PC community is more active nowadays.
It depends though where you from and the time zone you are online, but PSN these days is quite dead and the connection seem to be even more worse.
1 of the few reasons why I rarely play on PSN anymore.
You will find players on any skill lvl on PC, but most good players are logged on from 6pm each day and especially at the weekends.
I just upped this vid a few mins ago.
Always do every 3 months to represent the PC SSF4 AE community.
