I’ve played over a 100 matches on AE: PC and so far it has been so much better than PS3. Kick everyone with less than an “A” on the benchmark and play people with green bar connections (which is incredibly common, maybe due to less WiFi connections?). It is SO much easier to message people so you get a lot more helpful input from other players (assuming your not a douche). I’ve had very few laggy matches so far. I think with certain people inputs don’t seem to register as well, but that’s really no different from the other platforms. Playing people with the “Smooth” framerate setting hasn’t been as big as a problem as I thought it would be. Obviously you won’t get the offline experience, but so far it has been pretty close.
Freak I played you last night, it was as if you were right next to me. I’ve been hit and miss myself, but overall I’d say it’s better than console. I have a friend who lives across town, and while I was hosting I had lag and slowdown. Yet when he hosted it was smooth as butter, equal to offline.
I’m finding the comp pretty good so far. I got torched by some really amazing Gouken, I have much to learn in this game, can’t wait till see you guys on!
No real surprises. Much like Vanilla PC, it’s fine as long as your opponent’s computer + network don’t suck. Also looks sexy with graphics cranked.
Is there a way to play SSF4 AE in windowed mode?
press windows key and enter
AE on PC is going great for me.
but i just have 1 problem that i hope someone can help and i don’t want to make a new thread for this one question.
when i open up AE, there is sound for the intro but once i press start and go to the menu, there is no sound at all through gameplay and all of that. does anyone know the problem for this? i checked the sound settings and everything and their all turned up
Ah yes Bahn Yuki I remember that name. I don’t remember our match, what character did you use? I bet that Gouken your talking about it BeardedMonk, he just ripped me up (not like that’s hard to do, but still). As far as competition on the PC so far I’m finding it easier than on consoles, but that’s just because there’s a surge of newer players right now. There are a few killers out there.
@du ma balrog, the only thing I can think of is sound card drivers. If you have a sound card, find the drivers on their website. If plugged into the motherboard try and find some motherboard chipset drivers.
its FTW Lots of fun online so far. I think the networking/online on PC is best.
…And there are dedicated players, I played vanilla all they way up till AE came out and always had matches online, just add good players to friends list.
This evening was horrible, lot of lag with friends from same country (no lag on 360 version), lot of micro-stuttering … I’ll see how it evolves.
And if you want it centered on your screen (Like if you wanna play it Windowed + Full screen resolution for good alt tabbing) then use a program like ShiftWindow.
i made a hongkong account but when i signed in its still a usa account =,=
i dont know how to fix this problem,any1 help me :((
I’ve had AEPC since release. And I haven’t played ONE SINGLE GAME that would make me believe this is better than the console version.
I’ve played green bars: FAILED
I’ve played yellow bars: FAILED
Either the game drops 30-40 frames literally. Or the game enters Slow Mo like the SF2 speed slection.
And It isn’t my computer.
I am running on Fixed btw.
Here are my benchmarks. I find it odd that a couple of hours ago my benchmark was an A and averaging 89.5 frames per second. So I’ll have to do some tweaking. But at the end of the day anything average 60 fps default or maxed out is good and obviously not my rig.
Default settings (Fixed and Vsync off)

Maxed out settings (Fixed Vsync off AA set to SuperSampling)

Either way “FIXED” is having the same issues as any other setting online. Unless we are going through the same crap VanillaPC suffered from which is people still using Variable.
Tomm. I’m going to deep clean my registry, uninstall my video card drivers, install drivers and set everything to default and see how it goes…
I mean the game is beautiful…but it’s like dating the finest girl alive who had a stroke.
Edit: Here is my benchmark with Vsync enabled with Triple Buffering Maxed Settings

Vsync actually tweaked it…lets see how the online play is
when an oppenent has a crappy PC he will lag the game.
i stay on xbox for that reason alone.
I used to have the nvidia 9800 GT and it ran like shit online. get a new graphics card bro. I was able to open SF4 with some pretty buffed up settings, but it would lag online and while recording. i dont suggest you use those settings. when I used to have a 9800 GT, I would 640x480 with fixed frames
you needa upgrade
The online is good with other euros and decent with east coast. The skill level isnt on the same level as on the consoles but u cant expect that.
Seems to be great so far, though I failed to notice for a long time that the mic from my PS Eye camera that I use as a webcam on my computer was being used as my mic in online games. Guess a lot of people got to laugh at hearing me rage, lol.
But yeah, I haven’t really had a bad experience yet outside of the couple people who seem to think this game will run just fine on their 6 year old laptops.
I just played my first online matches, 5 of them. They ran great, better lag than 360 or PS3. I played green bar/A people. Looks like AE PC lag is just as good as SF4 PC lag
Bahn, what color and/or winquote did the Gouken use? I know BeardedMonk runs the light grey. I use 6, which is very similar to 1, but with a little darker top, and also winquote 11, which is the freakin’ hilarious throwback to SF2.
GeForce GTX 460 for ~$120 will solve the problem.
