I’m trying to set the controls and no matter what I do I can’t get it to save and work properly, I tried a few tutorials like downloading the 360ce.ini and stuff and setting my controls there but still doesn’t seem to work and save properly too.
i use a 15 years old “ccl usb smart joy deluxe” with a 15 years old “the pad by innovation” (10 Buttons, 1 axe) on it. To make the game save the configurations its required to get all important buttons configured once, or the game wont save.
in my case i connected the normal playstation 1 dual shock controller (16 Buttons, 4 axes) into the “ccl usb smart joy deluxe” to configure and make the game save it, then i unplugged the dualshock and plugged my “the pad by innovation” (10 Buttons, 1 axe) on it to test if the configuration is ok. there is one important button in the game you will always have to configure, its the start/next button, i set it to the “SELECT” button of my gamepad, the start button is set to light kick here hahahaaa…
Lol… don’t know why sfiv was simple and this they made it stupid with the config, I seem to have all the right buttons setup but it’s in the wrong order so when I change it other ‘needed’ buttons get removed and no way to change it because I don’t have 8. Well I’ll figure this out sooner or later lol
It know thats completely stupid, something they already knew hot to do it perfect, now they did it worse than before. If you have a 8 Button gamepad, you can only use 7 Buttons of it, because one button is always used for “start”.
after entering the game, if you press start with your gamepad, you can only use gamepad in the next menues and afterwards.
after entering the game, if you press start with your keyboard, you can only use keyboard in the next menues and afterwards.
==> you cannot combine the usage of your keyboard with you gamepad, it means you cannot use the “ENTER” button of your keyboard as “start”-button as one could do it with SFIV (or SSFIV_AE_v2012).
if it helps you out, maybe you can configure your config.ini manually to configure your gamepad buttons, i post you mine as an example, maybe it can help you (and others also):
