Apparently people are having huge issues with Mass Effect in re: to installing, playing, un-installing other shit, I’m not liking the idea of jumping through hoops to play a fucken game.
I’ll pick it up tomorrow though since my local shops were either sold out or won’t have it till tomorrow.
Just to let you guys know in case you didnt know, Street FIghter 4 will be on PC

So, the DMC4 demo and benchmark test have been released. It looks crazy (from screenshots I’ve seen… you can have a bunch of enemies on screen at one time). The benchmark test actually ranks your PC (like the game… you can get an “S” rank for smokin’ style, haha). My PC failed :-/… I got a D. I think I set the resolution too high. But anyways, check it out here. The site is in Japanese, but the demo/benchmark are in english.
I have that DMC4 demo downloaded, and it ran 60FPS on my POS system:

I think I need an 8800GT… I have an 8600GT right now. I was also trying to run it at 1440x900. What resolution did you run it at?
So what’s the point of the benchmark? To see if your system can run it? Is it necessary?

prolly just like the LP demo’s benchmark, to check performance every time you change settings and whatnot.

Got Rank S in the DMC4 benchmark, everything avg’d around 150FPS, boss battle was around 200 lol.

Here’s my PC benchmark for DMC4…pretty good for my PC.
As soon as I get some fans up…I may just be ready to get this game for PC.
Don’t know if it’s been posted, but Steam is letting people with NVIDIA cards to dl HL2 DM, HL2 something island, and some Portal First something for free.
Anybody else having problems with Mass Effect’s dynamic shadows?
It looks like shit so I disabled it. I’m using 8800GT 650/950/1620
Also GRID is either fuckin hard or I suck really bad at driving (probably the latter). Gorgeous game though. I got used to NFSU2 arcade style that I didn’t care about damage.
Ron, afaik, the shadows are fucked up for everyone (or it might be NV users only). There’s a slight .ini fix for it but it still looks retarded. Especially the hair, the bangs on females look like fucken lego blocks. I don’t know if there’s a patch or real fix, I haven’t played it in a few weeks.
Are you playing GRID with pad? I’m finding the game pretty easy and you can drive pretty hard, especially since brakes are so good. The uhh, derby races are tough though because of the awful handling haha.
BIOEngine.ini changes I used:

Here’s a screenshot of the shadows after I tweaked the ini file, still looks wonky but much better now with much less flickering but the edges are still coarse. I was thinking maybe forced AA on the nvidia panel:
Looks better without the glitchy shadows on up close but it looks too plain when it goes back to 3rd person view:
(I’m playing a chick since its 3rd person view and I don’t want to stare at a dude’s ass all day. haha. Tried to make her look like a cross between Jill Valentine from the movies and Admiral Caine from Galactica but the forehead still looks too big)

I’m using a keyboard, I think I’m gonna try playing automatic. haha I just suck and got used to arcade style driving (no damage).
I must be the only person who can’t get TF2 to work on steam.

I think I doubled both those values, still didn’t make that much of a difference. About the hair, I used a different style but you can still see how awful it is in the pic.
