You can buffer held moves in the pause menu.
Chun’s trial 10 has some frame perfect links into short frame cancels.
EG; What I discovered was that if you pause on a hitstun you can then hold buttons so that when you unpause they come out in the next frame or couple of frames.
When doing this, the animation doesn’t show after the unpause-pause, but it comes out when you unpause and are holding the next string of buttons for pause-unpause. This way lets you take time to do all the inputs 1 by 1, but you don’t really learn the timing and can kind of be an added difficulty trying to pause unpause correctly. If this is hard to understand, I wrote the inputs piece by piece below.
*I dont use the pause bug for the first part, just the frame perfect shit, although it could work at any point you need it in any trial)
Here is the whole combo broken into pieces:
HK - cancel into V trigger
F+HK
D+LP
D+MK
hold LP - unpause-pause-unpause-pause (Inputs might show multiple presses like a double tap)
d,df,f+LK - cancel into d,df,f+LK
If a move isn’t coming out, try to pause+unpause quickly one more time since the pause is like 1-2 frames or whatever. So like hold down+MK unpause-pause-unpause-pause. This is emulating a double tap afaik.
PS- MK acts like escape in the menu which unpauses, so to cancel that you need to hold a direction first.
LK acts like enter, so you need to beware of where in the menu you press it and if you hold a direction to make sure it doesn’t toggle some other menu or change trials or whatever.
Opening the fighter profile doesn’t matter you can still unpause-pause from it.
This doesn’t work if you press pause and a button at the same time or press a button before you pause.
I just completed this trial in a few attempts of this where as I tried for hours and hours the normal way before. And I’ve done other trials with it as well.
If you have any questions I will be willing to try and figure it out as this is a pretty neat discovery.
