Every time I see end game content for PoE, it makes me want to jump back on. I just want a passive sorc build, lol.
I’ll be playing the new league for sure. I’ve been running through my backlog but I always gotta try out the new PoE leagues.

^ My char looks badass thanks to EG. Since the move to softcore, I was able to swap a ring out on this char, which allowed me to make some build and gem changes. More damage with slightly more survivability. B)
For the new league, I was going to create a new Maurader called “EdgarAllenPoE”. But since that name is taken, I am now mad.
Try variations of the name, I’m sure you can get something.

I’ve been up on the new Guilty Gear and among another time eating hobby, but I’ll jump on PoE once again to see these new features. Funny to see Diablo 3 streamers going to PoE and actually sticking to it.
I’m going to roll a super low tier class again so @Sonicabid can tell me how I should roll a [insert god/top tier class here] instead.
I already rolled a god tier character towards the end of last league and it was dead boring just point and click after I got the gear.

With the changes to melee I kind of want to try a dual-whield Duelist build, too.

I’m doing a hybrid build raise spectre / projectile where projectile is either spectral or incinerate. Wish me luck.
Will probably get MC too but hesitant because I don’t want to lose AA but AA got nerfed hard (though MC also got nerfed from 60 to 50).
Playing a low life build as first char again that’s dependent on an end game item sure is fun lol.
i think dipping into the marauder part of the tree is a waste, it’s almost strictly defensive and you already have over 200% life so im not sure it is necessary. i would go with something like this if you want to dip into duelist tree. more dps and less life but at 150 i think that’s why more than adequate. i would also consider picking up vaal pact if you can play like that. personally i am not a fan of the duelist tree starting area.
if you want something more interesting and complex mechanics wise, you are set up well for a hybrid ES/EV (w/IR) build with ghost reaver. strong defensive utility with high ES and life, usually the way you set up your characters it seems that taking this route damage may never reach your life pool because of your damage output and instant leech to a fairly high ES pool (using discipline would be a must). just something to think about, so you can try out different aspects and mechanics of the game.

reinstalled the game after over a year because I think it’s about time GGG tapped into that potential I thought the game had
They’ve added a lot of nice things. You can purchase a 6link outright for over a thousand fusings. You can set party item allocation to permanent. Plenty of new skills, and new support gems are very interesting. Auras actually cost a significant amount of mana now. A lot of builds that seemed incomplete are fleshed out.
The game is also much easier in many places. Dying to an act boss doesn’t reset it, and most of them are easier. Exp penalty is down to 10%. Base health seems much higher even with no investment in %life. Lots of loot pinatas, and it seems like 6 mod rares are much more common.
Desync is still an issue. Organized daily PvP tournaments are great… except characters on the new leagues aren’t eligible. Character progression still ends way too early. IIR/IIQ still in game and still as powerful as before.
Were I an unemployed bum with all the time in the world, sure, I’d maybe spend it exploring PoE, but as it is i’m going to spend my time playing a game that respects my time and doesn’t keep the meat and bones hidden behind an incredibly dull grind for levels/gear. See you guys in 2016, maybe.

@Sleazoid I got to Merciless difficulty over the weekend alone using a build that leans towards decent gear moreso than other builds. Hitting end-game takes no time at all…there were dudes that were level 70-80+ on the 1st day the new leagues hit. @HeaT Has some cool leveling guide videos on his Twitch channel, too.
Rushing exists in this game too, and even having someone toss you waypoints can help save a lot of time.
@HeaT I ended up going a slight variation of that Duelist build I linked. There are two sword clusters to the right of the Duelist tree that I really want, but I need to level / re-work things for 'em. I’ll check out those Shadow builds though.
Not true, everything on new leagues is really cheap compared to inflated prices on standard league.

i think im on track for hitting lvl 70 in 14-16 hours (lvl 57 in 9 hours) on the character im playing. but most people who are able to hit lvl 70 in the first day are pretty legit players and understand the game extremely well, so it’s not really viable or attainable for someone who is casual.

He’s right about the time issue, lets see the suggestions.
You can get to level 70 first day if you abuse stuff like static, which is beyond broken. That included, you would still have to put a fairly large amount of hours in a single day to accomplish that. Some people that have work, family, etc, may not even have one hour in a day or may decide to rest instead of staring at a monitor. Another key note is the phrase “using a build that.” A certain build may be godlike for a starter but it may also be dead boring. If a game is boring, why play? My SRS char bodied everything but if you noticed I was playing my spectre/zombie char instead.
Rushing is skipping game content. What’s the point of playing?
No one was mentioning prices. Also if you trade on standard, you only need to do it once. For new league you would have to do it every time it resets. So in the long run, standard is cheaper. Also, there are some people that don’t trade [like me]. Of course it’s cheaper to get something by trading in an economy with massive botting and duping. One of the dudes at work was showing me how he had four bots running four accounts at the same time and he had tons of exalts on bloodline already. His bot automatically exited when he got low hp/es, perfect flask usage, dodge ability, etc. It’s more enjoyable to find stuff yourself and to upgrade as you proceed. Going from 2 link to 3 link to 4 link to 5 link to 6 link is more fun than just trading for Tabula and having a 6 link and being able to just throw any color gem in there.
Bottom line, if you’re low on time, you can enjoy PoE a lot more if you play Standard. You don’t have to worry about time and can proceed at your own pace. You don’t have to worry about your character being reset or moved. A lot of people I know used to play Diablo 2 and when they implemented that policy that your characters expire if you don’t log on for several months, a lot of the best players who also worked and some of which had families had to quit because there were months when there was no time to game. I’m sure as some of you get older you will understand the point @Sleazoid was making.
On the other hand, if you have massive time and you like to rush and want to be the fastest and get the best gear first, then yes, you would have to forget what you want to do and do what you got to do, which entails trading, doing research on what the best builds are and what the best players are doing etc. Don’t forget that creating a build is part of the fun of the game and copying someone else just kills it. For some players the need is so great that they resort to hacking, though I assume no one at SRK would degrade themselves to cheating in a video game and best believe if you get caught you will get kicked from the guild and reported to GGG.
