Patch coming for the lag

Yewp, the patch is great. Great stuff with 4-5 bars, decent with 3 bars… and I haven’t tried anything below that. I love the way ranked works now, I’ve had too much fun in the past 2 hours haha.

me too. i can finally parry those assholes who just mash crouching attacks (mainly asuka players) and show them what’s up

o man I love asuka’s/king’s/ hell sweepers who spam low strings and eat alisa’s b 3+4. feels good bro.

I still can’t do demolition man well online for whatever reason :frowning:

Epic patch, I had no idea that the patch would be anywhere as good as this. It literally put this game on SF4 level. I thought the patch would pull a kof and change nothing. I was dead wrong, it was also only 15 meg update which shocked me as well. SF4 level is not anything to celebrate but the patch turned the game from unplayable to playable.

5 bars = Really Good
4 bars = Good
3 Bars = better than pre-patch
2 & 1 I refuse to play.

I guess the bars lower once you’re in cuz they gotta handle your connection now too. Sometimes the connection will fluctuate as well. I’ve had it go from 4 to 1 and back to 4 during the same match.

I dunno wtf the kicking is… I get it too. Feels shitty but they probably just don’t like the connection. I just make my own room now. I only set it for 2 or 3 people. The net code is better now but I’m not trying to push it with a full room.

Since getting the patch I played 3 ranked matches… They were against King, Armor King, and another King. I was like… WTF?

Have you guys heard of lagswitches before? They are being abused in Tekken 6 be warned. There are vids on the net that teach little kids to create lag switches. Long story short they manipulate their connections to try to win the match. I played a lag switcher yesterday. Some kid would turn it on when I either hit him or launched him. But when he got me the game would run smooth. I sent the dude a message saying “nice lag switch but it won’t help you get better”.

He says to me that he does it for the lulz. Lagswitches are often used in FPS games but it’s starting to become a problem in T6. I’ve only met two lag switchers so I guess it’s not a big deal. But please don’t accuse normal laggers of lagswitching.
One reason I like XBOX live is that this behavior is not tolerated since it’s a paid service. Even if you have proof, PSN rarely does anything.

when the connection is good, its good. but it will randomly slow down and lag sometimes.

still when its good its pretty good.

the bars arent always accurate for the connection…ive had bad 5 bar matches and good 2/3 bars. i think its deceptive.

same thing happens in every game so it doesn’t really bother me, as long as there are playable, good games.

So far I have played in Ranked Matches 4 bars only, and so far is playable. But I can’t believe I’m missing Lili uf+4 -> 1,2 how can I miss that? And yet I do… argh…

Like I said it’s playable, but far from perfect. =/

But at least I can play.

I love it. All full bars so far and whoopin’ ass. Good job, Namco.

Yeah people have heard of lagswitchers before. It’s nothing new. There won’t be that many people doing it in Tekken specifically any ways. Tekken is hard enough to play online as it is so if there are a few people that want to make things even worse…whatever. It won’t be the majority and any random person could go their entire Tekken 6 career without ever meeting one. The jist is to put people on your friends list who play Tekken seriously and don’t join random games all the time like the masses. When you put yourself into the masses you’ve gotta deal with their bullshit. Especially considering the majority of random people online are complete scrubs who haven’t played since Tekken 3.

you’re gonna have to adjust probably. I noticed with pauls demo man I had to adjust and i’m starting to land more online.

Yeah very true, it won’t be a major thing. Matches with other skilled players is the way to go.

Don’t Lagswitches completely cut off upstream on their Ethernet cable?
Last time I watched a video on it it was supposed to be used to switch the upstream off, go behind the enemy in an FPS, turn it on and shoot them in the back.
Might be more likely that he was just pausing and resuming a download.

 i know exactly what you mean. i’m still amazed at how smooth the online is now that i can actually punish shit.

West coasters! Lets game

B-b-but it’s like 5 now we have to prepare to eat dinner.

Actually they have messed up programs now that work with lagswitches to create different results. The dude admitted it to me after the match as well and lol’d about it. Either way it’s just that one loser, T6 online in general is a good deal.

While the patch is definitely an improvement…I wouldn’t call Green and Teal matches great. There’s still 2-3 frames of delay, just due to the Internet infrastructure in America being so shitty. Juggles with tight timing can still easily be dropped in a Teal bar match. Also, might as well forget about frame punishing.

But with that said, there’s no more hellsweep shenanigans at least. However. I can easily see online creating a shit load of bad habits, so keep that in mind. I myself am doing d/b+4,4 into launch with Asuka more than I should have. Offline it’s easily parriable, but a lot of people online can’t block the second low.

Verdict: online is good enough for you to see how other characters play, and you can easily get to an intermediate level through online. But if you want to really learn Tekken, then you still need to find a good house/arcade session.
