Patch coming for the lag

Glory, i couldn’t wait and ended up buying the game haha, should have it arrive tomorrow i hope, tell me what the connection is like after the patch, better/ worse than sfiv? is xbox live patch online today, someone at work told me its delayed for a week.

edit: i see there are some positive comments so far, but then again most people said sfiv was lagless when it first dropped and that wasn’t the case.

props to namco.

online feels exactly like sf4. so if youve played that, you will get the same exact feel on t6 vs the same ppl.

i played a 4 bar and things worked great (about 400-500 miles). you could feel that there was lag but 100% playable, 3 frames of lag? maybe less? all juggles came out perfectly, of course for things with very specific timing you might have issues once it goes to like 3 bars or something. no worse than links in sf4 i suppose. i blocked steve’s d/b+2 on reaction no problem and i SUCK at blocking in tekken. buffer gs, buffer iws etc. hell yea no prob

Well, I just played the Tekken 6 patch.

It isn’t perfect, but the SFIV comparisons are pretty spot on.

I felt it was playable on 3 bars, and good on 5 bars. It’s definitely good enough to learn basic stuff from, like how characters play, even at 3 bars. Playing local NC folks should be near frame-perfect. I’d say experience with the bars is similar to SFIV.

They could improve matchmaking- “America” is too big of a region use USA East and USA West or something. Then again, I may not have gotten a match at 7am otherwise for a long while.

Lag abuse won’t get you that far now.

This is not coming from a Tekken player, so YMMV. I think Dandy J’s comments are pretty spot on. You can definitely learn some stuff playing online now. You could feel the lag abusers getting frustrated though.

Online feels the same…but I somehow didn’t have lag to begin with. I like the new options, though.

lol funny i can actually block some lows on reaction instead of guessing. The patch did wonders on my end. 3 bars is playable for me with a little delay. I mean it is no BB but it is a SFIV which is good for a 3-D fighter.

5 bars is complete excellent. I never played a 3-D fighter that well online with the 5 bars connection. Even the best connection of SC4 wasn’t this good. They did a great job considering the time frame they worked on it for.

I even tried a 2 bar match which was kinda bad but not as bad as I thought it would be.

Well you people will know what I will be doing this thanksgiving. This and COD4, I may have ascended above heaven.

Now you can debate the argument of SFIV vs Tekken netcode which people would laugh at you last week for that argument.

I hate being rude but this patch will kill the alot of the spammers especially the laws, Alisa, and Lili. I already stomped a couple of them.

Don’t like my opinion? Here is another.

They’ll probably happen anyway.

Well, with my lackluster Internet connection (26 kb/s maximum download and 6 kb/s maximum upload…) I’m having the same problem as SFIV, decent netcode+bandwidth hog=unplayable on my connection.

Doesn’t happen with GGPO, 2DF, HD Remix or MvC2, well, I’ll just have to switch to a 1.5 mbps connection.

where the hell do you live? the middle east?

Or Mexico?

Just got done playing about 4 4 bar matches and it was great. i was to able to hit confirm ch b+2 with bruce, and use his 3cd1 juggles and was able to use 3cd2 as a finisher instead of settling with another b+2 for fear of dropping a combo.

We need to get the word to the rest of the gaming community, espcially the people who put off buying T6 until better online, or the ones who returned the game.

Just played a 5 bar match and it was horrible. Still input delay and couldn’t even confirm combos. Shame Namco. DBZ still plays a lot better.

Try playing more. You can’t judge by one match. And maybe the other guy was fucking around with the connection…i hear some online players use lag switches. You know…immature semi-hackers who have to win at any cost. Sounds about right for the waters you’re swimming in with Live.

This patch is hella nice, had a green bar fight and it was all hiccupy and stuff but besides everything has been great, good shit Bamco…

Close enough.
Australia.

Anyone try player matches yet? Has the overall ping of the room been fixed so that if you play 3/4 people it won’t be super laggy?

Ok the new netcode so far seems legit. gotta test it more.

From my initial reaction it seems SF4 quality. Playable a lot of the time

The new netcode is awesome! I can actually do some juggle combos with King. Hats off to Namco for delivering! :lovin:

just got done with a 2 hour session of playing online.

it’s a huge improvement in a lot of aspects. i can actually block on reaction and i’m able to do some bound combos.

there’s still a small amount but it doesnt really bother me. 4-5 green bars are really solid where as the 3 yellows are decent. surprisingly, 2 reds arent that bad either.

overall, huge improvement. plays smooth and just as good, if not better than sf4

Yeah i still have some problems doing demoman using visual cues (which is never an issue offline). Guess ill have to start doing it by rhythm only

Very playable, better than SC4 imo. On par with SF4 for sure.

I definitely noticed an improvement after installing the patch. I can take this game more seriously now.

lol before the patch yesterday i had a blue bar that lagged like a bitch hope this patch works cuz imma bout to download it
