So I am going to get a fightstick for my xbox one because I’m getting really into Killer Instinct and probably will get into mkx when it comes out. I’m going to get the HORI fightstick for the xbox one but My question is, is there a way i can party chat with my friends cause thats a huge deal for me. I know that it doesn’t have a headset jack etc. Can I just turn my xbox controller on and talk through that? I’d prefer not ot make another profile if that needs one and I also don’t have a kinect so that isn’t an option. ( if i can just turn the controller on and talk through that, it’d be a amazing). Please help i can’t find the solution anywhere and thanks in advance.
“There are a couple of ways around this but the reason comes from MS not having adapters ready for headsets and chat. I’ve gotten around it by signing in with my controller and going into a party chat with my friend before turning on my TE2 and switching the user to that. It didn’t stop my chat despite it being on the same tag. If you want to talk to other people in Ranked then you have to use Kinect.”
There is no way to add head set compatibility to the existing stock of Xbox One Arcade sticks, in this include (but not limited to) the Mad Catz TE2, The Hori Hrap Hayabusa for the Xbox One and the Razer Atrox.
The only work around is to gut out the existing stick PCB and install a Microsoft Xbox One game pad PCB, then you have to mod one of the XBox One headsets.
Long story short, MS don’t care about gamers.
No clear way of having headset support with sticks, the 2nd controller option great for home use but prohibitive at tournaments.
You have to hope the tournament has set up some audio equipment for headset/headphones use.
Not to mention XB1 games have to be programmed to support sticks, example the XB1 version of DOA 5 does not support sticks.
PS4 fighters does not have this issue. for PS4 sticks, you can use an Audio USB adapter or a USB headset.
I am not sure how this plays out for Tourney use, unless they supply a USB hub.
Well I am not ready for tournaments at all and probably will never enter one. Plus If I go anywhere than Xbox it’ll be pc cause PS4 doesn’t interest me in the slightest. But Thanks for the input.
