Partitioning Versus Buffering

I’ve come a LONG way since the last time I posted here. When you are charge partitioning, can you only have a certain amount of stored charge time? Like when I hold down for a long time, then dash and try to flashkick/stomp/headbutt it doesn’t work. But if I hold down for a little bit then dash and try it comes out 90% of the time.

Yeah, partitioning differs from regular charging in that there’s a maximum you can’t go beyond otherwise nothing comes out.

ok cool I figured that after doing nothing but dash partitioning for like two days

Yeah I still have nothing here. Is the timing of the first tackle crucial to the point of where if it’s not early enough the second tackle won’t connect. I feel like I time the first tackle well…i’ve just literally never been able to have a second tackle come out…let alone connect.

I’m having problems performing the TTH juggle combo. I don’t think my problem is the charge buffering because when I attempt to do the juggle combo, I get the first tackle to connect, I get (towards) MK(instead of the chariot tackle) and I input up+MP after what’s supposed to be the second tackle and the headbutt comes out. So I guess my problem is when to do the inputs for the first tackle so everything else connects. Out of all my time spent in training mode trying to learn this combo, I’ve only connected two tackles once. Thanks.

Watch Urien’s knee (note: This method works for me but may not for all). After the launcher wait for his knee to hit the ground (the one furthest from the enemy character), thats the first frame you can start doing stuff from. You’ll know you’ve got it right because they bounce up much higher imo. It takes a bit of time but you’ll get it.

Can someone rephrase the following for me. Taken from the wiki pages I’m trying to TTH with Urien in the corner and even though i hit back + K i still am not getting enough charge for the next T

"Double Tackles Apparently, double tackles are hard to do! Here is how you do one properly: After you do a c.HP, you MUST MUST MUST do the first tackle ASAP. To do the first tackle, your inputs should read something like this. db.HP, wait a second, forward, neutral, down back + MK the absolute second you hit down back, do not “slam” the stick into down back, move the joystick to the closest position to neutral while still hitting back/down back, once you initiate the second tackle, the instant your joystick registers to forward, hit MK. If you follow these steps properly, you will get a double tackle. "

The confusing part of this quote is the neutral portion, so ignore it. You’re not exactly setting the stick to neutral anyway if you’re charging downback. :stuck_out_tongue: The rest of it is exactly how to do TTH though, I’ll just break it down into steps.

Basically, do cr.HP->charge back, forward, back+MK. The first tackle MUST be done ASAP. There is a trick that the quote is trying to explain though with the whole neutral dealy:

Try to do the forward, back motion without the stick touching the edge of the gate. This is what he meant by “not slamming the stick to downback”.

This will not only give you plenty of charge time, but makes the motion for the second tackle easier(forward, downback/down+K).

You have a bit more leeway regarding the timing of the 2nd tackle, meaning you don’t have to do it immediately. The timing is still hard to do consistently though, so you’ll have to practice it.

I hope this helps.
