LOL.
This is what I’m talking about. This is exactly what I’m fucking talking about. I’ve given examples earlier in this thread, some that even gave other people pause for thought and then here you come out with “I’ll admit I haven’t read through all of your posts”.
DOES ANYBODY FUCKING BLAME ME FOR HATING THIS STUPID FUCKING WEBSITE?!
And edit:
The difference between parry and JD depends on the game. JD as is in CvS2 K groove is something I actually like since it rarely gives you an advantage and quite often gives you a disadvantage (JDing running jabs that were popular earlier in the game actually increased your stun; JDing Cammy close fierce increases your stun, etc).
The main problem with JD (as pertains to CvS2) is a fundamental problem that P/K grooves have. You can JD before you can block in some situations. For exapmle, I play K-Hibiki. In C/S/A/N grooves, doing qcf+p in a combo against Bison will get me killed. With K groove I can JD before I can block and it becomes safe (it actually becomes a setup in some aspects). Stuff like this is why JD is broken in CvS2 but the principle is decent. Like parry, it would be better if the risk element was higher, but since the reward is usually lower, it’s not nearly as big a problem as parry can be.
LMFAO!!! YOU have the audacity to call my statements stupid?? Son, this is the most retarded statement of the year. Throws pointless in 3s??? Are you smoking crack?
here is a mind game with alex… i think its a good example of a multi faceted mind game.
u get a stomp (faking tick throw, reaction to fireball), u then either cross them up or hit them from the front with another while they wake up. the opponent knows this is a possible set up u can try (or already did attempt). so in anticipation to the cross over stomp the opponent walks forward into alex. this then allows alex to powerbomb them (especially if they wanted to parry or block in the right direction when the stomp came out).
if the opponent is on the ground and doesnt roll up u can whiff and partition with st mp over them so u can set up either another ex stomp or be in range to kara throw them since the strong puts them in block animation.
they parry the strong… cancel to jab powerbomb, or ex stomp.
I’ve read a good bit of it. But I really don’t have the time or the will to go back and search all 12 pages to find examples. All I’m asking is that you lay one out, simple and short. Or someone can quote one from earlier.
"u get a stomp (faking tick throw, reaction to fireball), u then either cross them up or hit them from the front with another while they wake up. the opponent knows this is a possible set up u can try (or already did attempt). so in anticipation to the cross over stomp the opponent walks forward into alex. this then allows alex to powerbomb them (especially if they wanted to parry or block in the right direction when the stomp came out). "
I thought you would do this but you did that instead and boy was I surprised!
Except it’s even worse in this case because in regards to any kind of crossup (especially crossup stomp, I should know, I play Alex) you tap either direction right as impact is about to come down and you either get parry or block. It’s zero risk. Another element of something that would be really good were parry not in the game.
So not only did you just agree with something I’d said earlier, you somehow managed to show how parry makes it worse. Congratulations sir, you’re arguing for me.
And to ParryAll, read the Vega/Blanka example and then read what Blanka’s mistake was, then read how in a game with parries none of this would be possible because of the multiple positions (I outlined one, there are more) where parry would completely eliminate this element of the game and also would eliminate the corner pressure that Vega can do and thus would make the element of position weaker which would make Blanka’s best options “sit on your charge”.
God, I’m so fucking done with this thread. Why do I fucking bother reading and writing out thought out replies when I fucking have to deal with people who freely admit that they don’t read what I’m writing, then want to argue that they’re somehow correct anyways. Fucking christ this is the most pointless fucking thing I can think of. I’m going to sleep now, if someone comes up with something interesting for me to reply to, I might. But I’ve basically said all I need to say already. Can’t fucking believe how much of my time you people have wasted while you didn’t even fucking read. Why fucking bother.
They can’t be relied on. They get broken like… 90% of the time. They’re pointless. Maybe you’ll bank on getting lucky, but I’d prefer throws that work every now and then.
Alright all I want is one good reason why this thread shouldnt be locked. This thread has turned into the same shit over and over and over and over and it seems everyone is set in there beliefs.
i firmly believe you can play absolute and disciplined, doesn t have to be anything random about it. in my eyes, its just another option your opponent has that you can be aware of and neutralize.
the game shouldn t play like anything else, it should play like 3s, once you understand all thats going on it becomes you vs your opponent again, there doesn t have to be anything half ass bout it.
Pointless?? OMFG. Someone back me up on this. Throwing is one of the most important elements of 3s. Especially Kara Throws. Honest to god, if you don’t think throws are important in 3s, you don’t have the slightest clue as to what the game is about. Throws are sooo important, especially in high level. I can’t even begin to fathom where you are getting this…
