As nice as that parry is, you really shouldn’t parry on wakeup. The risk/reward factor is not at all in your favour most of the time, unless you have meter and play urien lol or you’re reacting to something slow, like a uoh.
again, im not looking for some advice… im sharing this only because its fun to watch, happened on a casual match i usually dont play like that when im playing seriously this stuff happens randomly when i play with friends
is there a specific rythym or timing to parrying? i hear about option selects and know you have a 2 frame window to parry and i can parry the first hit of everything this game has to offer but anything after one is a mystery to me.
like 97% of multi hit moves can be parried with the same rhythm which as you see is slower than how fast the moves actually hit you. exceptions are Remy sa1, Ibuki sa1, Gouki’s kkz, necro sa3? thats all I can remember off the top of my head
so is it liek a A-B-B-B-B-B kind of rhythm? i some times get a second or 3rd parry but the timing between the two feels different than between the first two, but maybe thats just me. I can never get a consistent feel
imo good practice is if you have OE or PS2, go into training mode and set the dummy to auto parry, but still try to move the stick along the parrying. go back and forth between auto parry and actually trying to parry it yourself. my tendency when I was learning was I was doing it slightly too slow, so I might get the first couple of hits but eventually one of mine would be too late to be inside the parry window and I’d mess up so I had to force myself to parry at a rhythm that seemed faster than what I perceived it to be but eventually I got used to it.
you know… ive tried practicing in parry trials until now. LOL but that makes sense. sometimes i just think dont.
duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr huuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. practice mode exists for a reason i guess.
