Paradise Arcade Shop, LED Joysticks, Buttons, Mods and more

We’ve been having trouble getting the aluminums, we thought they were being produced but didn’t come in out last order. We are checking in to whats going on.

I would agree with PNOY, but you need to add the Pele’s to the list. My rec would be to go with RGB if you can swing it, it just allows a lot more possibilities down the road and you can tweak the coloring to what you want. However, if you want to save money you can buy packs of LEDs and install the old fashioned way.

Didn’t see this in the main project thread but are there any updates or an ETA for Project Magenta?

sweet… just need it to go live!

will these fit universal adapters fit korean sticks?

@ed1371 No kidding, stayed up until 2am last night working on it and then when I submitted it said. We will get back to you in 2-3 business days…
@agent_nomnom 303FK (I have not tested with the others, but I believe the center plastic riser is too large for the center cut out.)

I can’t wait to get that Kickstarter link and throw more of my money at you.

Haha, I’m hoping this does well.

I have confidence that it will make funding.

Stupid Question,
The Sanwa JL-PP1 Dustwasher is the dustwasher for the JLF if you not using a Shaft cover?

I think so!
At least according to Akihabara website, it is.

The hole for the -PP1 dustwasher should be narrower for the JLF’s that don’t use the shaftcover.
That’s about 0.05% of the JLF’s that got sold to home users.

Corrosion is not a such a good thing…
It’s a pain but I’ve seen the pics and there’s a reason I buy JLF shaftcover kits when I buy a new LS-32.

(I also happen to have high-acid sweat. What it did to my lacquer-covered/gold trumpet was not a pretty sight…)

@inendoi I hope so, I know it doesn’t have anything to do with you guys but I really hope it hits the Ms Pac adapter plate level, that would be nice.
@darksakul yes

Georgec… I have a dustwasher for you, just go stainless shafts!

If I ever get that spare change and decide to experiment with a clone -32, then yeah, maybe.

The Classic Zippyy looks nice enough, has the bonus feature of being both cheaper and compatible with the Seimitsu -32 parts.
I could see myself maybe dipping for the stainless shaft for that but I personally DO prefer shaft covers. The extra color makes it worth the 30-minute effort of shaving down the plastic covers to fit the shafts!

(And I can’t believe I just typed that… sounds kinky/pornographic!)

Thanks Brian and George, I wanted to experiment with something, and I needed the non-shaft cover version of the dust washers
If it works, I let everyone know.

Oh now I am curious, we have a mod for doing shaft covers on crown sticks that works with a dust washer. Let me know if you need something custom cut on the laser

Nothing interesting, I wanted to see how well a JLF - PP1 dustwasher works with a primarily a JLW but I going to try some Seimtisu sticks as well.

The standard JLF dustwashers work fine with the LS-32 and LS-40’s.
They’ll be looser on the LS-40 but as they get closer to the base of the joystick the fit becomes more snug.

I’ve used extra copies of the JLF dustwashers to cover up the pivot areas on LS-32, LS-40, and LS-58 installations that had the room for it. These were control lever installations on non-standard mounts – ie, modded non-universal joysticks like the T5 and Arcana Heart 2. I found that after installing the LS-58 in an HRAP 3 (generic, non-SA/SE edition) that there was enough wiggle space to use a dustwasher. All these installations were with “Flat”/Re: Mounting-style Plates. You can’t use the extra dustwasher with the SS-Mounting Plate because it mounts the joystick flush with the underside of the faceplate. There’s no room for a dustwasher installed above the pivot joint to move…

Just an extra bit of protection to keep dust out. Dust is the enemy here.

It’s goes without saying the JLF dustwasher works fine with modded JLF shaftcovers on LS-32’s. I would imagine the narrower dustwasher for the uncovered JLF’s would work fine with “naked” LS-32 shafts, too.

The primary difference between Seimitsu and Sanwa dustwashers is that the inner hole of the Seimitsu dustwasher has a “lip” area that overlaps/covers the Seimitsu stick shaft regardless of whether it has a shaftcover (most LS-series joysticks) or not (LS-32). I’ve actually reused LS-32 dustcovers on LS-40’s that for whatever reasons didn’t ship with dustwashers. The LS-40 shafts (with cover) are actually slightly thicker than the LS-32 which forced me to grind a little bit of the plastic off the LS-32 dustwasher with a fine metal file. (I’ve actually used metal files more for grinding down plastic than I have for grinding metal and wood.)

… and I’ve already used up this week’s quota for unintentionally kinky typewriting now…
