Paradise Arcade Shop, LED Joysticks, Buttons, Mods and more

What would impress me more is a balltop filled with lava that’s still liquid and somehow doesn’t dissolve the balltop container material, either.

>SIGH< One can dream!

P.S. – The chocolate covered macadamia nuts are nice!
I wouldn’t put them into a balltop, however.
You know some starving gamer at a tournament would probably break open balltop like that to get a cheap snack…

Aaahhhh… Okey-doke.

I’ll e-mail her then.
I dunno what’s going on with butteroj to be frank. He might or might not have some leftover Pearl balltops.

I know I would really like to get that Vermillion meshball but I’ll have to see about finances this weekend…

I do not have anything left other than tan :frowning:

Hey I placed an order for a few sets of the button silencers last Saturday (the 4th) and my order is still sitting on “payment accepted”, is there a delay with the silencers? :frowning:

Just got the second batch of test washers in the mail yesterday and will be giving them a try tonight. The thick white feels squishier in my fingers than the original thick washer, but I don’t know how that will translate to the button itself until I throw it in the stick.

Got my order today, got to Canada faster than the order I placed to the mainland USA at the same time.

As for zippy vs omron, the zippy switch are considerably louder than the omron. very very much so. Granted, the price reflects this for sure, but perhaps you may want to mention this on the site because afaik it’s not mentioned?

Either way I’m quite pleased with my order so far, so thanks! !

Now I just have to figure out how to work this led balltop thingamajig… heh

called today and left a message with Susan reg: availability of PS360+ PCBs (I’ve found a replacement stick for my TE-S I want to drop one of these into). Will be ordering next week at the same time as my replacement stick is ordered from Cali, provided the product is still available.

Guys, just quick note, Paper, we had a huge rush and had to do more, they have gone out today or yesterday
Plenty of PS360’s instock

Hey Armi0024 you never answer my question on the Happ/IL LED’s. Do you sell the RGB ones not prewired? I saw some LED that where not pre-wired but was not sure if they are RGB’s

thanks

Oh sorry, we do not have them no the shelf, but I’m sure we can solder suck a few and send them out without wires… btw, if you are looking to light up IL buttons wait a week or two, we have some new stuff arriving

Sorry to hear that but thanks for confirmation anyway!
Appreciate honesty over B.S. any day of the week!

Honesty is an underrated character trait that’s unappreciated by many people.
I value it…

armi –

I left an e-mail message with Susan asking about pricing and availability of the vermillion meshball.
I’d like to get one and probably another balltop handle (Wico red?) or more likely an LS-32/Zippy silent mod kit with an adapter harness. (I’ve got Silent Seimitsu fever…) The JLF 0.187 micro harness is compatible with the silent LS-32/Zippy mod kit, right? Hope you guys have some instructions with the kit or can point to a PDF or blog with explanations how to hook up those microswitches!

Harness hook-ups from custom mods other than the Cthulu’s tend to make my head spin a bit. I know the coloring is there for the convenience of the person wiring the joystick but the order of the hook-ups and the fact that I want to use a Seimitsu-type joystick make me wonder about how complicated this could get unless it’s plugged in EXACTLY like the JLF (which wouldn’t surprise me).

It’s the simple stuff that always confuses me!

Just filled in the survey for the new test washers - the new white ones too ‘squishy’ for me - although probably better tactile response than the old thick ones.

The new thicks, however, feel very like your thins (installed today, thank you!) but are slightly quieter. I’d have them as the best of the bunch…

Just wanted to say, I let a friend of mine who’s an even more serious player than I am (plays Super Turbo, 3rdStrike, and UMVC3), tryout the fullset of PAS’s silent sanwa washers, and I installed them in his personal stick. I’ve gotten positive response, he said it took time to get used to, because of how lighter the buttons feel, but it was good since the noise was lessened.

we even joked about how you can’t express how salty you are with these buttons because even if you smash and slap you buttons, it’s a soft, pillowed sound haha.

edit - I know its on a per-demand basis, but if the Seimitsu button silencers won’t be a future product, can we get some through some sort of custom order request? I would love to get some quiet love for my PS-14-KN’s

Seimitsu’s are going to happen, we already have the material to do it, however I want to finish the Sanwa’s before moving on. We are going to release 24mm thins this weekend  so Hit Box guys get ready!

So far no one likes the original Sanwa’s more than the thins, but we are getting mixed opinion on the new thicks. Since I accidentally ordered enough material to make about 1000 of the new thick washers we are going to offer them up for sale in addition to the thins.

Thank you to everyone who filled out the survey, we got GREAT feedback and some excellent ideas. I will answer a few suggestions…

  1. LED controller, we are just coding these up and waiting for the production run of LEDs. We are making provisions to make everything backwards compatible.
  2. Got some GREAT joystick ideas, watch the thread, I have a week off and let’s just say, prototyping is going to happen!
  3. The Twist is in but we do not like the quality of all the parts. We are evaluating to see if this is a lot problem or a sample problem.
  4. Korean parts… sitting in my living room, we just need pictures
  5. Ball tops… all I can say is keep your eyes open, we will have mesh and mirror tops coming in (we had a deal with the original manufacturer who got a better deal with one of our suppliers, so now we have to pay twice as much… but we will still bring them). We are, as we usually do, bringing some tops that are going to be our own creation and available NOWHERE else

Finally, Susan’s grandmother passed this spring and was cremated. She is traveling back to MN for the burial next week so the shop will be closed Wed through Sunday. I will be in town and will take care of any last minute issues, but please place orders knowing this.
May is going to be a very exciting month for a lot of reasons… so keep your eyes on the site.

When can we buy Korean parts off the site? What do you plan on carrying?

We have a limited amount of Crown Buttons and Joysticks on hand now and will be expanding that offering dramatically in the next 2-3 weeks.

Sorry to about her lost, my prayers go out to you guys.

I can’t wait to be able to purchase the crown stuff…awesome stuff sir.

new stuff for lighting up IL buttons cool. Cant wait to see what you’ll have in 2 weeks. Also like Darksakul sorry to hear about your wife lost, my prayers go out to you guys as well.

After playing around with the new prototypes, I think my washer preference ultimately depends on where they’re mounted. In a wood case with plexi/wood panel, the Thin Paradise does not dampen enough of the sound, so the New White washer gets my vote. However, in a TE, the difference in sound between Thin Paradise and Sanwa are negligible so I’d go with Thin Paradise since it’s available and feels closer to an unmodded button. It’s not as good as New White in dampening sound, but I’d take that trade-off for feel.

Armi,

I think you should go with Fantas for the korean sticks, they are better than Crowns.
