Hey I was wondering if these “quartz” buttons are the same as the ones being sold at Focus Attack, hopefully I’m not looking dumb by asking this but I got to know, I REALLY want to do something like https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BVrfWvZIQAAR-me.jpg:large
@wyos From what I saw the switch inside the buttons are different. If you care more about having clear plungers than which switch your using than get which ever one you perfer. If your already have sanwa or seimitsu buttons than Paradise OBS plunger or X-Busters are an option for clear plungers.
On a side note that looked exactly like my Synthesis before I swapped the joystick in it for a ls-32.
@wyos Great question
The Quartz Buttons are also known as Rollie buttons. These buttons have been around for quite some time and have been known to work with the sw68 Sanwa micros.
Our Quartz buttons we sell come with the stock micro and are $2 each.
You have three options in our store:
Option 1, buy the Quartz Buttons in any color you want at $2 each
Option 2, buy the Quartz Buttons in any color you want at $2 each, then order SW-68 micros to replace the micros. The total will be $3.65, or a savings of .30 each and you get an extra stock microswitch!
Option 3, We like the Sanwa OBSC Crystal better if you aren’t going to do artwork because the plungers are much clearer. These are custom produced plungers in stock Sanwa button housings and come with the SW68 switch installed.
If you look at the Crystal compared to the Quartz you will notice the Quartz has ejector pins (round marks) on the face of the button. We feel this detracts from the look. While the Crystal was made in a special mold where the ejector pins were placed to optimize visual clarity.

CRYSTAL

@YellowCan Oh I see I see, actually I got a Fusion Synthesis as well and I’m trying to copy this one, thanks for the help!
@armi0024 Are the plungers on the Sanwa OBSC Crystal the same as the Paradise OBS Plunger? I just want transparent plungers because I already have a stick with Sanwa parts, also I’m a little bit worried because one of your customers said this about the OBS Plungers:
So you see I’m a little bit skeptical, can you tell me how these plungers feel like?
@wyos The plungers are very tight fit and sometimes at the bottom outside edge of the base the flash needs to be removed. We catch this 90% of the time, but occasionally we miss it. It’s a very easy adjustment and doesn’t affect the appearance of the plunger.
I am not sure my opinion of how the feel is as important, as the other review:
Comment : Aesthetically, these clear plungers are unique in that they do not have those unsightly “plastic molding” lines that indicate where the plunger was melded together. This allows the plungers to have a transparent and uniform look for LED’s to shine through. In terms of feel, the plunger functions normally, but may need to be filed down along the bottom for a better fit. Otherwise, they feel like any other Sanwa plunger.
If you Email Susan at sales@paradisearcadeshop.com, I’m sure she’s be willing to send one first class and you can test yourself for very little cost. It would probably cost around the same that you save buying the Quartz buttons with SW-68 microswitches from our shop. So, you could trial it and still pick up the Quartz buttons if you don’t like it for the same cost it would run you other places!
If you already have sanwa buttons then my suggestion would be to try the OBS plungers out first and test how it feels to you. They are what I have in my Synthesis right now and they feel really similar to the sanwa plungers. The OBS plungers do feel slightly different but that’s probably just difference in plastic and isn’t really worth noting and shouldn’t stop you from buying them. Unless you’re extremely picky about how your buttons feels.
@SusanInParadise fit 99 products into this 8.5" x 5.5" box, not including the ridiculously scrumptious chocolate my wife will steal from me. I love Paradise Arcade Shop. Many Mahalos to you both!

yeah, that chocolate is S-tier, i got some nuts with chocolate that still makes my mouth wet even if its like 2-3 months ago, lol
and susan should get tech talks packing award of the year
Susan is awesome. She always quickly replies to my emails, checks inventory over and over for me, gives me updates on restocks, and so much more. Susan is a big part of what makes PAS just as S-tier as the chocolate.
Awwww thanks guys You sure know how to make a girl feel special
@Zensouken we sell those yummy candies…maybe you should get your wife some for Christmas hint hint
I emailed Art, he explained that the lighting in that pic was done a certain way to show off the fluorescent edge. He had something on his home page that said the fluorescent blue was lighter than the light blue, which is what made me think the pic was off(sorry, I didn’t really make that clear).
Anyway, I’m getting ready to place another order with you guys for my second hitbox build. I just have a few quick questions. Would mixing the plungers of the OBSC Smoke and OBSC Blue buttons look weird? And are the RJ45 cables pretty reliable? Is it good practice to have a spare?
RJ45’s are great, I don’t think you will need a spare…
Just a reminder We have RG’s and for the right price too!

A more sensitive Sanwa? That’s insanity.
Haha, more sturdy than sensitive, but very nice!
Do you have any idea what the expected lifespan(in hours) of the regular Sanwas is?
hours is a bad way to measure because it varies on press and beating it takes per play, depending on what kind of games you play.
Regular Sanwas at around at 1,000,000 presses rated.
RG Sanwas are at 5,000,000 rating.
edit - if my word is worth anything, i would say these are the best arcade buttons you can buy out there right now, functionality and performance wise. They are my favorite (sorry seimitsu, you discontinued the GX/GXN series), but thats just my opinion.
I can’t even guess at how long 1 million presses would take me Maybe someone will chime in and share how often they have to change buttons on average.
I think I’m just gonna stick with the regular OBSC buttons for the time being. I don’t think I’m hardcore enough to need those extra 4 million presses.
its a estimated 1 million button presses based on lab experimentation and test data. And the button presses are done by a machine at regular intervals and at the same amount of force each time.
Your actual mileage will vary as the 1 million button presses do not take how rough a player is or there play style. I seen player wore out buttons before their time before. E Hnoda’s thousand hand slap and Chun Li’s Lighting Kick are (by theory) button destroying moves. It can be worst with some shmup players.
Well…
If you got the touch (then they should last a lifetime)
- But -
If you got the powaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah (then expect busted buttons)
Yeah!!
Then all hell will break loose, and you’ll ride into the eye of the storm.
I’m so sorry guys.
