I’m not sure if there is a thread about Pandora uses, and it seems no one’s really jumped on Pandora tech so I hope that this thread will be useful =] Over the past 2 months I’ve developed some gem set ups (thanks to suggestions from friends) that help make Pandora a way more useful mechanic. Although some of the methods are conditional, they’re a lot more practical than some of the ones people have tried before, and a lot simpler than the ones Desk has shown off. Take a look at these 4 videos, each of which has different methods of achieving big damage with Pandora:
A 50% damage Jin-Ryu Pandora combo:

A 70% damage Jin-Ryu Pandora combo with possibilities for other characters:

An 80% damage Jin-Ryu Pandora combo with an interesting bonus:

Finally, a redo of my first 50% combo (now 60% damage) as well as a new gem set up that opens up more possibilities:

All of these videos are meant to open up ideas for new gem set ups, new combos that can be do into and whilst in Pandora mode, and also to try out which characters can make a great Pandora metagame. I hope you find these videos useful.
just waiting for someone to troll newbies with 950 dmg combos. Maybe not even just newbies… you could surprise a lot of people like that if you could pull it off.
That shit is not “tech”. Pandora is entirely situational and doesn’t offer any benefit on combos. Dont pretend like its some untapped potential. /end conversation, no reply needed.
They should passively extend pandora to last this long and do the iOS SFxT changes where pandora kills off your character but leaves you with your anchor alive after the time is up on pandora.
Literally one of the worst things about pandora design is that grey health recovers so fast and some things leave so much grey health behind that remembering and gauging the requirements for pandora sometimes are hard to remember because when you dip under 25% it’s touch of death territory and you won’t get to use it.
This guy reincarnated from some dude that said the world was flat. For real man why the hate? Let some people figure stuff out. Hell be happy people are working on tech for your game while half the net is saying its dead.
Careful, don’t feed the trolls. Obviously we want more of this kind of stuff. People get off on trying to get this to work, it could even change the face of the game if it’s effective enough.
Thanks for all the replies guys =] I’m currently working on more stuff that I can do with pandora and I’ll be making more videos eventually. The idea behind my videos is to show what’s possible for any character to pull off into and while in Pandora so people can begin to experiment. I do however wish Pandora was more of risk gamble based on the game’s system, to clarify: it kills your second character, gives you infinite meter, however if it didn’t kill you and left you without meter and still 25% health left it’d be perfect. I think that way it’s a chance for a comeback, which is easy for them to run away from, but if they hit you it’s massive damage. Anyway, I’ll see if I can cook up some more stuff so be sure to look out for it
I don’t play Hwo, but I love new tech, regardless. I’ll always supports it. Now, hit the lab and get cooking, I want people to be addicted to your videos!
Not bad. Nice to see someone with the balls to activate it, even though it may seem pointless and in this case it was for style. In regards to what you mentioned in the other thread, especially about the distance from which they come in, I’ve tried to find ways around that in my videos so feel free to check them out.
Actually this combo isn’t for style. Do you mean that in this particular match it wasn’t necessary because I was going to win?The strongest non pandora combo would have gotten me less than 600 damage off of that attack so this one does significant more damage (about 80). Furthermore I don’t need any meter once I activate pandora since I get two free meters in pandora to activate the super. That combo used 5 meters as you saw.
Pandora combos don’t need to do more damage than your strongest combo, it just needs to be able to do something that you otherwise cannot. For example if you can do a 600 damage combo that will kill the opponent with a 1 bar pandora combo, then it may be worth it if you can only do a 400-500 damage combo with that 1 bar and not kill them.
You’re preaching to the converted man, haha. I wasn’t suggesting it was pointless, obviously you know your reasons for doing it, I was merely saying most wouldn’t even consider pandora as an option at all. I did say I made videos but I feel like I’m beginning to talk to myself now, haha.
And here it is guys, an answer to the Pandora spawn issue. As usual, it’s kinda conditional, and like we’ve mentioned in this thread the onus is upon you to choose to do this, but I feel like this is one of the much easier things to do in Pandora, and it relies on what the opponent does. Even though this video focuses on DPs, I express that there’s possibilities for other punishes when in the corner (or midscreen with a good super). Check it out:
