yep, thats me. and as far as i know, i was the only tourney organizer ever in pali, haha. those x-zone sessions were the hotness… but derycks house was even better. man, the good ol days, haha. im betting most of the old pali players dont even live in the area anymore…

those marvel sessions (with the JD) were unforgettable and you definitely helped keep the scene competitive in Pali.

CvS2 is working there, I was playing on it a week or so ago in the arcade by burger king in the food court. So is there actual comp in rockland county? lol. MvC2 is still busted as far as I know.
Wow, that is really sad to hear. It’s ironic because I left him a message on his friends page just recently to see if he still played. I still have his number on my phone.
I only ever met him a few times, at the sessions he held at his house and once I think at that lan cafe. He was a really chill and friendly guy, and very generous to share his house. I was still new to SF back then, and have fond memories of playing with the Pali crew.
I remember he went on a trip to Manilla or something and the scene pretty much slowed down after that. Never did get back that jacket I forgot at his house. Haha, you keep it Deryck. You will be missed.
yea, its weird cuz i only added him on facebook a couple months before… we even talked about getting together and playing the next time i was in town. then the next thing i know, i got an invitation to his memorial group on facebook. sucks man, seriously…
there was a lotta potential for pali back in the day… we were having monthly tourneys and weekly gatherings. that was a lotta fun. unfortunately we’ve been scattered all over the place (including the afterlife) so theres not much left at pali…
hopefully theres some new blood to pick it up where we left it…

I can’t believe this thread exists, amazing. Pali is super dead haha, that run down arcade by burger king (what is krazy town? I just called it Pump arcade…) hasn’t gotten any effort put into it in a long time. The other one on the 4th floor is long gone too, that one had promise but it opened when I left for college… bummer. If anyone wants to put together anything weekly late spring/early summer let me know I’m down to help.

Sadly, I’m only active with SFIV on PSN at this time. This doesn’t stop me from trying to get something together if enough people are interested. We could use multi-platforms ect.
PS: Has anyone checked out what D&B’s arcade has in the mall? Could be a few things there worth-while.
