Josh wigfall, ricky ortiz, connecticut heads, philly heads, xecutioner, sanford, justin wong, and my yonkers friend jason. they were gonna come up here after the tourney, but i told him the deal with today and how many people were likely to show. So, they’ll go on mon, sure. Jason also told me that after the tourney, him and X’ll post up here to let you guys know what the deal is.

I’ve never been to the X-Zone. I guess they let you bring your own stuff and hook it up to their screens? How many screens can you take up? And what are the chances of getting a group discount? Did it happen last time?
And doesn’t someone have a copy of Super Turbo they could bring? I guess emulators would be a bad idea in a public place like this. The only viable option I have is The New Challengers on SNES with a pair of rusty gamepads, which obviously isn’t too great. I don’t want to have to resort to that, but I’ll bring it if people will play.
If I come, it could be as late as 9 (could be earlier). Until about what time will everybody be staying there?

They have a website [http://www.sportsworld17.com] with directions and coupons, so I’ll just let you check that rather than risk screwing you up with my crappy sense of navigation.
BTW, to anyone else who knows of Sportsworld in Paramus, when I last checked there last week, the CvS2 controls were finally fixed! The only problem is that the speed and damage levels were still jacked up, but maybe we can have that changed. Unfortunately, the MvC2 controls are still horrendous. Anyway, the place is pretty big so they have many other arcades games and other forms of entertainment, such as mini-golf, mini-bowling, bumper cars, a laserteron, and food (the place is pretty big). So stop by if you can and help restore Sportsworld to its Mortal Kombat 2 glory days.
I remember sportsworld in mvc1. crazy red venoms, striders, and golden warmachines.
haha…now that i think of it…the last time i was in sportsworld WAS during mk2 days…i mustve been like 10 years old or something…haha…is there any comp there these days?

they have ps2s…but we’ll bring dc’s…and bring your own stick…unless you wanna use a dpad…or borrow someone elses…basically, all we use the place for is a place to chill…haha…we pretty much need to supply everything for ourselves…

Ewww. Sportsworld. I haven’t been there in the longest time. I went there once in awhile back then. The fee you have to pay after 7pm is bleh. Also the machines aren’t a) maintained b) settings altered to ridiculous things(speed set incredibly slow/fast or damage) c) the place is just terrible for comp. If you need comp in MvC2/3s/SC2. There’s Fun N Games in Wayne, NJ. Its located in Willowbrook Mall. Its the only reputable arcade in northern nj.

yeah if u are looking for SF comp do NOT go to sportsworld. x2 on th at last line. The machines are horrible, and theres no one there but lil kids basically.
Yeah that arcade next to willowbrook the last time I went had maad mvc2 machines lined up. Maybe 5 or 6. Sticks were a lil off last time I went on the machine I played on. Also not many people but probably was a bad day.
Just come to pali on the session days. The people arent bad here at all…

yea i skipped sportsworld and the break, but i went to some random places in atlantic city. and let me tell you there are some weak mvc2 players there. mostly hpx4xxviper beamxxhvb scrubs, really. played one guy in tekken tag who was dancing around like he was on crack but he was pretty good.
EDIT: afterthought: he probably was on crack.
word…now pali is the best place for ny comp outside of the city…haha…very nice…
just make the sessions weekly…same time, same place…that way ppl just know to show up…i wont be here next mon or the one after…but i hope the next one i do goto will have 50+ ppl…haha…
makes me wonder why i bothered spending all that time organizing those 8-man tourneys…haha…o well…
Yeah, Sportsworld is bad for SF competition now. I was just hoping to spur some interest in the place because it is conveniently nearby to me. Just selfishness–sorry:o.
