So I was watching the Video X Games stream, and because of what initially seemed like an arbitrary request from Perfect Legend to switch from 2P to 1P (which was denied), I learned that instead of hits trading when two players both hit a button, that instead advantage or priority is always given to P1.

Is this true, and has this always been the case?
