We need to play more, Dodgers! Your Honda owns my soul, and I need to get more practice in against the Sumo! We may need to just have a night where you whoop my ass with Honda like 50-2 or something so I can learn more about that matchup. And your technical execution is really good.
Plus our connection is so good!! 5 bars and NO lag at all. Was very nice!
Did you manage to record any of those matches? In general, I cringe when I watch my own matches, 'cause I get so self-conscious, but I am curious to analyze the fights.
lol, i have MPD when playing this game. That may be the last time you see me with good execution with anybody
I was feeling it with Honda last nightā¦not so much anybody else lol
I recorded the last 3 or so fights. The last match has you breaking the Honda curse
I just record main vs main now-a-days. But i always mention the final count in the description. Iāll let you know when i upload themā¦i been so lazy hahaha
Everyone in [North] SoCal seems to be arcade only ;__; It had forced me to pick up a mediocre Ryu so I can at least play at the arcades with people. Things are getting better though, so weāll see.
Also, yeah I gotta practice them combos. I know them and they come out maybe 50% of the time, but I would say I have 0% confidence in matches to try them, let alone get them to work if I do.
Thanks forth the tips, back to the drawing board I go.
We can still do the SoCal Cammy gathering. I live in Santa Monica. Dodgers lives in San Bernardino. cwistofu is in Irvine and Newtybar is in North Orange County. Seiku, if Iām not mistaken, is close to San Diego? If we can find a decent spot right in the middle of us all, Iām sure we can all meet up and play. WCW didnāt work out as well 'cause there werenāt many casual stations there.
Yeah a good amount of SoCalās good players gather on Weds. Itās actually not very casual at all though, pretty hardcore and they expect you to be determined. Right now Iām not even close to on their level so it feels kinda shtty. Last night it was less casual and more trainingā¦a lecture from Valle and then we set up three stations with what everyone stated as their toughest matchupsā¦Shgl using Blanka, Ultradavid using Zangief and Gootecks using Balrog and all of us just took turns playing against them. I tried using Akuma (Iām trying to learn Akuma for arcades) and got destroyed by Gootecks last night (and basically by the look on his face I pretty much knew he was thinkingā¦āwow you are badāā¦lol). I did learn a valuable lesson thoughā¦I have no idea how to create momentum or apply pressure. He even made it a point to do absolutely nothing but stand thereā¦and he was rightā¦I couldnāt create anythingā¦felt kinda shttyā¦but it was a valuable lesson.
Thereās also a Monday session now which is supposedly a lot more casual so Iāll have to check that one out.
i really wish there was a place near me like that! you guys are so lucky to be able to set up games like that. I swear no one around here plays street fighter except for in boston which is 2 hours away. Its all halo here and i have 2 50s in that game im sick of it already! i swear i say āhey you play sfā? and i get a āwtf is sfā its getting to a point where all i can do is play online
damn, as much as iād love to have a some gaming sessions with you guys, it would be diffilcult.
For one, i dont have a car. by the looks of things, i wont be getting one any time soon. My only chance would be getting a ride from my friendā¦who lives in Glendale. But he can only hangout on sundays with the occasional during the week kick back.
Add on top of that, he is not as ethusiastic about street fighter as us. It took a lot of convincing to get him to take me down to West Coast Warzoneā¦and he was bitching the whole time about being bored (maybe because we never got any casuals going)
He does play Street Fighter 4 and we play every week. But he lacks the passion to do well in this game and step his game up. he is alright with the game despite finding ways to kill himself every round (always trying to land an ultra, predictable playstyle, etc)
so yeaā¦because of my limitations i have only been to a few meets. I only went down to Cicadaās place in the Moreno Valley once, even though i wanted to go atleast monthly. Again, my friends did not want to go anymore because they felt they didnt belong. lame
OH SNAP!? Professor Valle teaching Street Fighter 4?! That sounds like an awesome night. Even if I were to horribly loose, it would still be super fun!
I would totally be interested in meeting up. School is starting in a week though, so things will probably get tougher when that happens. Iāve also got a friend whoās be itching to play some people, so he would probably tag along if this were to happen.
Wow. A Street Fighter IV class. Hahahaha. Awesome! Iām sad I missed that. And by the way, that sounds like the NIGHTMARE LINEUP for Cammy players. Hahahaha. Geez.
But Iām definitely down for local meetups. Iām right in Downtown LA so relatively central to a lot of places. I might be able to host too (max 5 people, and maybe someone can bring a second setup). Sounds like fun times
I am currently located near Venice and Centinela about 1.5 miles south of Santa Monica Airport. I will be moving soon (in about a month), then I will be located near Sawtelle and Veniceā¦
it would take quite a bit of convincing to get my friend to go back the way he came to play some street fighter
sigh i wish i didnt have to rely on other people. one of these days iāll get to places on my own
isnāt there a street fighter tourney happening at a gaming store in venice? i remember my friend mentioning something about it
ahhh here it is
316 Lincoln Blvd Venice, CA 90291 at TEN2Gaming. I was going to go to their first tourney about a month back. My friend wanted to go to the second one too but thats the weekend of out Vegas trip.
If they host a 3rd tourney, iāll see if my friend is wants to go. We can meet up there
Man this makes me wish I didnāt move out of SoCal. Silly job making me have to move to Texas. I canāt seem to get people to play with out here in Austin. Iāve started going to Arcade UFO but that means no Cammy so I picked up Chun (it was Guile, but trading one issue ridden fighter for another wasnāt very productive). However paying a buck for a match that Iām most likely going to lose gets expensive. If I was still in SoCal Iād totally either set something up or attend these things.
