I used to have the “Target Acquired” title with the Delta Red flag, but I recently changed to “Technician” with the joystick as my title and the green Cammy face as my icon. I don’t like the combination, though, and will probably change it again real soon. I wonder how many people purposefully play Guile and Gief against me when they can tell I’m gonna play Cammy? I keep thinking I should not have anything Cammy related, but then again, if they wanna use Guile and Gief against me, bring it on! More practice for me.
Edit: I always use Alt Cammy Costume #6, and if that’s not available, regular Cammy #5 or #6. Regular Cammy #6 was my favorite back in the ST days.
Edit #2: I’ve changed back to the Delta Red flag, but now my Title is “Aesthetician”. I like it because I like doing fancy combos and fancy things, and since most people probably don’t know what it means and are unable to pronounce it, I figured I’d be unique in using it.
I use Family Man (for Guile, my OG main) and the blue cube Cammy icon IIRC. Thinking about picking up Ken too, so I might change my titles to signal that. Taunt 1 or 5 (How dreadful )
Had Perfectionist title/ Fist Icon for a while, might go back to that.
And I’m pretty sure people do try to counter pick based on icon/title. Even more Giefs and Guile’s than usual when I rocked Target Acquired/ID Card.
That’s why I use the default grey SF4 logo :). But I’m considering the “yami” kanji icon.
As for costume, I don’t have the alternate, so I use the default one in color 3, 4 (how does it feel getting beaten up by a pretty blonde girl in pink like me) or 6.
I sometimes use the “come on” or “is that all you can do” taunts vs campers.
I leave random win quote.
EDIT:
You unlock character related icons by completing all that character’s trials. By completing all time attacks you got kanji symbols and by completing all survival modes you got animal silhouettes.
I have never changed my icons since day one, I use the flower bouquet icon and the “Love Missionary” title. Also reg. costume color #3 I am the standard.
Blonde arrow title with flag from cammy/alternate color 9 taunt 3
If they wanna counterpick the better training for me
Btw here is something that really frustrates me.
Everyone always compliments me i have a very good **defensive ** cammy:crybaby:
I want to play rush/aggressive but its like in my blood to counter attack.
How can i change this?
(My gameplan mostly is wait for opponent to make mistake then punish.
Then wakeup mixup until they escape and repeat.)
okay guys, I’m really starting to get discouraged with Cammy.
She’s a good character, but… I dunno. I don’t think I’m good enough to compete. My basics are horrible, I have a crap footsie game. My strategies are flawed, and now I’m loosing to people who I usually beat. Sad Face.
Anyways, I think I’m going to take a break from SF4 for a while. Maybe practice combos for a little bit here and there. I’m going to play some SF3. If anyone on here plays GGPO or anything, show me the ropes lol.
Maybe you could try picking other characters for the time being? Blasphemy I know. :(…but I appreciated cammy a lot more once I started using Chun-li. For one, cammy’s combos are a lot more fun to do.
The Sagat I lost to on the live stream mentioned he plays and beats Allen. I panicked and said to myself, "Don’t play like Cammy!"That was the most retarded thing I’ve done in a long time.
The second was just me being emo, and I didn’t play smart.
After pondering for a little while, I have realized what happened to me and why I’m all butt hurt. I compared myself to people like Marn, Valle, Choi, etc. I am no where near them. I am far more scrubby than I once thought on Saturday. It didn’t help when the 2 girls came up to me congratulating me and saying how they’re fans of me etc. That really boosted my ego, and me ego crashed hard over the weekend.
I need to work on analyzing the match while I’m playing the match. I think if I can do that, I’ll be a great player, but still not on the same level as the likes of LA and NY’s finest.
I’m glad I got that off my chest. My Spirit’s better now. BACK TO THE CAMMY DISCUSSION!
I played Yeb today on XBL. SORRY! I LEFT MY CAMERA AT A FRIENDS HOUSE! He’s been practicing a lot today. He found a lot of good counters against Cammy. I’m afraid it’s going to be even harder for Allen, Jchensor, and myself to play him evenly. He beat me 10 games to 6. I’m pretty happy with that, considering he bested John Choi, Magnus, UTJ, etc.
My general strategy was this:
RUSH THAT OLD MAN DOWN! If I had him cornered, I either ran away anticipating the ex dive kick and punished, or cannon spike him when he tried the ex dive kick. I’m pretty sure Cammy’s pokes are better than Gen’s. I stuff him with a lot of cr. MK -> SA.
Maybe i can help a bit with strategy:)
U have to look at a match as if it was a boxing/taekwondo/… match.
What that means is in round 1 u have to observe and check ur opponent.
U will find/notice things in your opponent guard/habits that u can exploit.
Its not the end of the world if you lose round 1 as long as u observed and learned ur opponent tactic.
In Round 2/3 u can exploit those flaws and win the match with ur strategy.
Ill give u some match examples from my tkd matches:
In round 1 i will do a couple thing to check my opponent out and try to find flaws/habits:
*Like i will do a feint and observe my opponent
->if he stands still and blocks, next time ill do a feint again and kick right after
->if hes dashes back i know hes a counterkicker and i can exploit this
->if he moves his shoulds sidewards ill know he will back kick etc etc.
BY round 2 u can exploit these things and win the match.
Its probably the same in streetfighter
I have lost many first rounds by near perfect but came back and won round 2&3 strong.
Now if only would follow my own advice more …:china:
SeikuRyu: Honestly dude, with the way you seem to win over good players (a 10-6 with someone who beat Choi?)…I think you’re way better than you give yourself credit for.
Btw, I’m curious as to whether people here encountered opponents who could jab a tk strike on reaction. If so, how do you deal with the situation? I have an opponent who seems to do that a lot. Admittedly, he may be doing it partly by anticipation.
