Shit, you’re on the East Coast, DBC? I’m sittin all the way over here in CA and we have a pretty stable connection!

Btw, I’ve been meaning to ask you about my usage of SBF in our matches a couple days ago. I made a post about it over in the moveset and attributes thread.

Can I get some feedback on it and our matches in general? Your links were destroying me, especially that link into s.hp with Chun Li, haha.

Cammy Moveset and Attributes

I just played a bunch of rounds with DBC, and I had a couple awesome Cammy moments against his Chun Li. But that’s not exactly why I’m posting right now.

I tried messing around with Spinning Back Fist ranges against DBC and it actually worked alright for me overall. I mostly used lp SBF and a lot of times he would react and try to punish it (possibly thinking it’s mp or hp SBF). The result was that Cammy’s hitbox would be out of range and his attack would be stuffed by Cammy’s fist coming out. I should note that whenever I used HP SBF, I ate a ton of damage.

It got to the point where he stopped trying to do anything (unless i just got reckless with it, lol) if he saw Cammy’s twirl, and he would take a good amount of chip damage while I was set up to do as I please thanks to frame advantage.

Jumping in the air and trying an attack seems to trade at best, so it seems like the only real option is to dash back or jump away. Granted, that’s exactly what Cammy doesn’t want, but if you don’t throw this attack out too often (like I was, heh) you’ll most likely get in with at worst some nice chip damage and +3 frames and at best a knockdown and a chance at some pressure shenanigans and maybe even a combo into Ultra.

Not sure if people have attacks that could reach and knock her out of her twirl at the apex where she’s vulnerable, but I’m fairly confident that few or no characters have pokes that long and fast.

So still not the best attack, but maybe actually much better than we’re giving it credit for? Just never use HP SBF and never use SBF when you’re too close to the opponent because you’ll go soaring over them and eat a bunch of unnecessary damage.

What do you guys think?

yup, on this game u can get pretty decent connections with every1 except japan/chinases. i even got smooth matches with 2 bars connections

I sent you a message after you had logged off, but I forgot what I said in it. I’ll see what I can remember about our set tomorrow, when I’m not drowsy. I should’ve recorded the matches like I usually do, so that I could have them for future review, but I didn’t think to do so at the time.

Augh, it would have been amazing if you recorded that one match against your Chun. Oh well, I’ll just have to play just as well against you the next time we play!

I use LP SBF sometimes on wakeup if im already across the screen, but never if they have ultra, most good players know that as soon as they see the start up animation it’s free ultra. I used to get baited into using it against fireball spammers - baited into using my anti fireball tool against fireballs … a billion ultras later and i fixed that bad habit. Someone on here once mentioned the ex-version is good for getting out of the corner because it has really good invincibility on startup, ive been testing it out lately with mixed results, so far about a third of the time they mess me up once i get to the other side, i’m pretty sure the whole cast can punish that with whatever. It really is a terrible move with very few applications.

EX SBF has good invincibility but still very vulnerable esp once she comes out of the spinning part… You have to use it somewhat psychic like DPs. If predicted, it is good against Boxer’s Turn punch and straight rush punches, FB throwers (except Chun and Guile, they recover fast) and if you have ultra = free combo into ultra, but just like all psychic based moves, misread = free combo/ultra for the other guys.

LP SBF has some uses too. You can use it as an anti throw counter. You can use it when you used j.lk or c.strike to cross up, once landed behind your opponent, you can immediately throw out a LP SBF as a throw counter and if you have an ultra you can combo into it when hit, if they block it, its safe on block, its even safe against command throws from Abel, Honda and Gief. It can be beat however by DPs or any EX moves with lots of invincibility frames like Viper’s EX flame or Rufus’ Jesus Kicks, Gief’s EX green hand or any none FB based ultras…

The name’s Juube. Anyone heard of him? lol alexanima’s xbox account? I don’t think I’ve seen him on the forums before… can’t find a youtube of him… Sounds like a good Cammy if it’s true… I’d like to play him some day.
