Goodness, I didn’t know about those glitches of going through sagat. I’ve long bitched about being able to be thrown out of cannon spike though.
Sad to see you stop man. I enjoyed watching some of your matches in youtube. I also stopped using Cammy mostly in favor of Chun and Akuma and that’s what’s keeping me in the game. I still play cammy in casuals though.
Do you still have a link about the guy saying that the game is coming this winter? That would definitely be something to look forward to.
After reading the first post, I was hoping that things would look a lot better when I skipped to the last page since about 6 months had passed. Sad to see things are just as bad
Looks like Cammy fatigue has finally set in for many top players… Can’t wait for the next iteration of SF4. Hopefully, they will fix the issues identified by these top players and fix up the console exclusive characters. I have moved to another console character (Rose) but I found problems with her also, though not as bad when compared to Cammy’s.
I think its safe to say that rose has more problems or at least as many as cammy…
Im sure sanford has more reasons to “take a break” aside from Cammy’s issues. Some news, any news, about a dash update would be great for morale. I mean its about a year until the next EVO and the next SBO. I think a lot of the hype created by those events kept people playing the game.
lol i posted in the strategies thread by accident but i’m pretty much close to quitting sf4 right now. i’m pretty damn frustrated playin as cammy and i really don’t wanna play as anyone else anymore. i seem to have gotten a bit better i actually reached 4 final matches tonight in g1 and lost all 4. I’m just glad i reached any final rounds at all cause ever since i reached g1 i’ve only been to 6 finals. but i lost to balrogs and ryus. cammy definately needs to be fixed for the next game.
on a side note, i fought damdai on live today… and got royally rocked by his ken :\
In my personal rankings, I actually put Cammy right in the middle. I count only 10 characters that are obviously better than her: Sagat, Ryu, Akuma, Rufus, Balrog, Dhalsim, Viper, Bison, Seth, and Gief. Otherwise, everyone else is either debatable or obviously worse than her. In my opinion, of course.
I actually count Chun Li and Blanka at the same tier level as Cammy.
J chen, can you go into a bit more detail why you feel Sim and Bison are obviously better than cammy? Those two you mention i’d really like to see a more in depth analysis from you as to why you feel that way.
For Bison, it’s really because he doesn’t have any bad match-ups. I don’t see him as having the fights that he fears. he can handle pretty much anyone. Maybe his worst match up is 4-6 or 3.5-6.5. Cammy, in the meantime, has some horrid matches. Gief, Guile, and Balrog are all awful, awful matches. On top of that, Bison has a lot of really good tools. Cammy’s tools are all pretty makeshift. Short Scissor Kick is amazing for Bison, since it’s safe. You can almost never Focus Bison since Psycho Crusher is Armor Breaker and Scissor Kick hits twice, whereas you can get free damage from just ONE lucky Focus against the Dive Kick. And Cammy has no normal move poke that even comes CLOSE to being as good as Bison’s Stand Roundhouse. Heck, she doesn’t even have a normal that comes close to his Standing Forward.
For Dhalsim, I just think Dhalsim is under-rated by a lot of people. Playing against some good Dhalsim players, he’s just super frustrating to fight against. I’ve also seen lots of really good Dhalsims, #1 being Arturo in America. And Iyo always performs super solid with Dhalsim in Japan. I have less scientific reasons for Sim than I do for Bison, but most of my reasoning for considering Sim so high is gut feeling and his history of performances at tournaments.
You can FA headstomp, or just step back a little. Just make sure you’re ready to break grab when Bison lands right in front of you.
And isn’t it still a little too early for Dash to be coming out? Coming out this winter seems like it would just be a rush job filled with even more grievances than this current version of SF4. Take your time, Capcom.
EDIT: I’m pretty confident you can air grab Bison out of headstomp fairly easily. Not sure about EX stomp, though.
Not Cammy. I love Headstomp spammers when I’m Cammy. Unless they do a Devil’s Reverse and IMMEDIATELY hit punch, you just have to see Bison fly towards you ever so slightly and then just do a Roundhouse Cannon Spike. That wins every time. Even against EX Headstomps (unless you do it too late). But tip of Cammy’s foot during Cannon Spike > Bison’s Feet during a Headstomp.
What’s the use of neutral jump HK? I hate all the jumping moves that hit up rather than down and I can’t really find a use for them. Are they supposed to be used as an anti-air move?
I really never use it. Sometimes I’ll use neutral jump HP as I’m coming down after a blocked dive kick, but there are probably much better options considering the small hitbox for that attack.
not sure but if u cspike a bit late both u and bison gets the damage by hitting each other
though most of the time i get headstomped while jumping towards him, its too frustrating see bison camping on opposite side of screen doing nothing except wait for u to jump and headstomp …
I think I’m gonna take a month or so break from this game. It’s heartbreaking to log in as many hours and time as I have with Cammy to still get beat 50% of the time. Not to mention that I had a draw game on XBL last night and for whatever reason, they decided to deduct 100 points from me and give them to my opponent. That was kind of the last straw. I guess I’ll play MvC2 or SSF2THDR for a while.
