Can someone post a video of this crossup?
LOL!
Cammy is in trouble for sure.
One last thing… why in the frame data are numbres like -30? why is it -30 and not just 30?
The difference is?
- means she’s at a disadvantage
no - means she recovers before the opponent
okay so i just uploaded this vid to show the crossup, and to show that i stole buktooth’s sexy setup.

@0:59, i don’t crossup
@1:38, i crossup and proceed to fail doing a DP.
oh and @0:55, i picked up this fun tactic against balrog. jab xx dp against EX overhead/armor breaker =)
of course you’ll probably eat it from EX dash punch and maybe the ex dash sweep.
wow, 2 general discussion threads… atleast this is better than the “newbie question” thread.
I like this thread more than the other GD thread anyway… since the titles went thorugh dramatic phases, sorta gives fealing… and HOPE
sorta like church.
nice… i was actually interested in seeing the backthrow-> mk. drill set up (0:39)
edit: Also, does using mk/hk c.strike correspond to no-crossup/crossup?
it makes a difference, but the height of when you do ur dive kick also matters.
Dude, that setup is awesome. So awesome that it deserves bold-facing, underlining, and italicizing. Good shit seeing that in action!

there’s two things i love about buktooth’s setup.
#1 whiffing c.rh looks like you fucked up something so they dont’ expect anything the first time they see it
#2 drill hits low. XD
and my friend who was playing me said that the meaty drill beat his reversal non-ex headbutts. (doesn’t work against ex)
I knew I did the right thing when I asked to actually see it. Haven’t seen it yet (no youtube at work), but from the comments it sounds awesome.
Thanks again!
Well I’m back from the tournament and I must say that I wasn’t really prepared…I got shut out by a near-flawless Dictator and Boxer. Despite having matchup knowledge from the Turbo days, it seemed almost moot in terms of applying it to SFIV. I did get props for bringing her to a tourney though; apparently she isn’t seen much at them. I’m not discouraged though, just means I need to work harder at it. At some point I’ll have my Cammy uploaded for critiques so hopefully that will help.
I don’t understand this setup.
In what ways does this setup help you? Does this beat some moves?
I’m confused. So did Boxer have to reverse his block, or was he just not blocking right?
Dont think this was said, maybe assumed
the RH whiff > meaty SA setup is a really easy combo-in to Ultra
edit: darn nvm, I can only get 1 hit right after the SA and also if I CS > FADC > Ultra
corner is ok
It’s just a mixup. Since it’s hard to predict the CStrike your opponent will have a hard time determining if you are planning to cross them up or just keep it regular and land in front. This will help lead into other goodies.
Beware of the flowchart ken though since he’ll just spam a wakeup Fierce DP on you.
I was playing around with this and the backthrow -> c.HK whiff -> SA last night… got some new tools!
Great stuff!
On a side note, I was trying out the DP -> FP Hooligan… and can’t seem to get the context of it…is it only if they tech roll? I just seem to soar over their heads if they crouch block.
more stuff:
-
connected dp, (opponent tech rolls) wait a split second, then roundhouse drill hits super meaty similarly to the back throw/hooligan grab set up. it’s kind of hard to tell who has advantage in this situation since it’s a lot easier to mess this one up, but it’s at least safe on block for sure. this set up also only works from a fairly close dp
-
the guide agrees with how i thought cammy should be played; get close, mix up between throw, low short and dive kick
-
the guide adds as counter to jab mashers (balrog players), start with a low short low jab chain. after verifying a block, stick out low strong. if it counter hits, you can link low forward into roundhouse drill. looking at the frame data, this set up isn’t “real”; there’s a 4 frame gap between a blocked jab and a low strong which allows 3 frame jabs to get through. however, since you’re controlling the pace here you’re a lot more likely to time your move better than your opponent, and risk reward is mostly in your favor as well
-
any time you hit a super meaty drill, you can juggle the short version of the super. the damage is ok at 400 points. worth it if it’ll kill
-
it says you should counter people doing midscreen focus attacks with… hooligan? i mean, yes that would work if you’re fast enough but… isn’t just low forward -> drill a lot more realistic?
-
cross up short works on
blanka
honda
chun li
rufus
bison
sakura
feilong
cammy
gouken
i found that on these characters, just hitting a rh drill and holding up-forward on the stick perfectly sets it up if they tech roll (who doesn’t tech roll?)
This reminds me of what I see a lot of good Ryu players do, and I’m sure I’ve seen gootecks do it a lot as well. 2 light attacks, take half a step back, and look for the counterhit c.mp xx whatever. Works amazingly well once you’ve conditioned the opponent to fear the throw.
Yeah that’s what I thought too. I just thought maybe I wasn’t seeing something else.
Looks like Cammy has some more new tools now.
Hm… this is some nice info. I have been doing hooligans against FA. It works fairly well. I tried c.mk->drill to break FAs but sometimes, it maybe my bad timing, I trade with the FA and get knocked all the way across the screen.
I didn’t know you can vary supers with different strengths?!?!?
