Ougon Musou Kyoku - Umineko no Naku Koro ni Doujin Fighter ABC Yuu Agin

I’m a sad panda for this game not having airdashes… :shake:

but HOLY SHIT that gameplay vid has me more hyped than BBCS2, shit looks MAD FAST!

:amazed:

I’m surprised that metaworld breaks away, instead of vanishing like Extend Force in AH3. It seems distracting.

Save me from the stupidity of the stupid retarded kids.

I’m super hype now, thank you. It looks like tagging in is safe if you use meter but I wasn’t paying too much attention to the meter. Also is that a guard break bar next to the life bar?

Oddly enough, if the break limit bar fills up you get guard crush.

Ange and Lucifer movelists are opened up at the character page.

EDIT: It seems the game encourages switching because doing combos fills up your partner’s stock.

Calling it, Lucifer/Kanon user right here. <3

Nice catch. I didn’t even see that they had seperate stocks.

Ohhhhhhh, so that’s what the meter at the bottom is, nothing specific to tagging or assists, it’s your partner’s meter. Now it makes more sense to me XD

So then…
-Normal tagging needs no meter from anyone.
-Tagging midcombo needs no meter either.
-Using tagging to burst needs 2 meters from your partner.
-Activating the metaworld requires one meter and for the bar below the timer to glow red.
-Your active character can’t gain any meter, only your partner does.

Anyone correct me if I’m wrong.

I feel exactly like the first time i played Melty Blood in 2002… this is a totally Doujin revolution, a new standard in Japanese Indie gaming, i still cant believe that this is a 07th Expansion game… HYPE TRAAAAAAAAAAAIN!

Ah, after this i wonder if Frontier Aja will have the balls to release Big Bang Beat 2…

There is a tag bar on the bottom corners.

Yeah, if you replaced it with a simple “change OK” message or similar that most team games have it wouldn’t make a difference though.

Yeah, this. Not seeing air-dashes is actually quite refreshing, because it means that these doujin devs are actually open to trying different things beyond more of what we’ve gotten a good dose over the last decade. Hopefully, French Bread is taking notes for their own new project.

Pretty much the only thing I lament is that this isn’t a straight to arcade release (which would do a lot to suggest that we’d be playing this on PS3 some time in the future). But that’s probably due to the notion that this game is trying to follow Melty’s path of being a PC dark-horse, first, get in good with some one like ASW later.

07th are untested fighting game developers, so it makes sense they try to tread fresh waters by knowing what they do best: create a buzz in the PC market where distribution is not restrictive.

Although, 07th expansion hasn’t really peeped a word on who actually got a hand in creating this game.

Reserving judgment on this game. Frankly for me the super flashes are way too flashy and animation is a bit stilted. Also not sure how it’s going to turn out mechanics-wise.

But hey,

HD DONJON GAME VROOOM VROOOM!

Whoa whoa whoa, no airdashes? My interest is piqued.

Gameplay looks solid until I saw Chiester doing like 8 supers back to back on Ronove. Made me think of prepatch Big Bang Beat/Arcana Heart 1 with all that meter. No air dash means people have to actually learn footsies into gatling combos. Seemed rather slow paced overall until the flashy shit started happening but i’m more than interested.

now with 3 articles these fucker are going to explode in hate and rage, god forbids a non sf post on the front page

I’m really liking the look of this game. Not just because I’m a fan of Umineko, but because it looks like a great doujin fighting game in general.

Primary team is going to be Ange/Lucifer most likely. A little bummed that Jessica isn’t playable.

More important things to worry about in life, than the musings of the masses. This game is not for them any way.

Any way, the one useful thing I gleaned from reading over those pages of brain-cell melting drivel talked about NETCODE? By all means, I’m hoping these guys are up to the task of doing some decent netplay. Whatever helps the cause of this series eventually getting put into arcades some time soon!

Maidou oppai, ho~~~~~~~~~~~~

Pre-order started on Amiami sometime in the past 24 hours. It wasn’t up last night when I checked the site, but pre-order slots were already sold out this morning. I will presume it will be available again sometime soon.

Also, planned release is confirmed as January.
