Ougon Musou Kyoku - Umineko no Naku Koro ni Doujin Fighter ABC Yuu Agin

1st Ougon combo exhibition out on Nico,
and it is quite the watch even though it starts off quite simple.
[media=youtube]Hs9Kt3Z12y4[/media]

Its quite bizarre to see actual relaunches from the ground.
But I think it’ll be patched.

They do give characters who can do them quite the advantage,
so while it is neat, for balancing purposes, they probably will take them out.
Kinda hope they expand upon it with whatever 3rd installment they may make.

Jeesh, and when I first picked him up I thought George was a battery. Still I’ve written up what little I know about George, with resets practised against George and Combos mostly against Battler -note Lucifer (for example) is smaller, so the combos will be smaller. Usually, just knock off a 5a.

George notes
[close] 5a[5a again on some characters],5b,2b,2c,6c-jab starter, see far 5b followups
5b,2b,2c,6c(not feint)-standard starter
Followups- light axe for 1014, close knockdown
SP Axe (done with timing for medium spin) for 1281, but hard timing. 996 too early.
light spin for 951, far knock down
Medium spin for 1038, 891 if done too early. far knockdown/close reset(slight adv.) respectively.
Hard spin for 978, close reset (hits once, heavy disad.)
SP roll for 1074, far knockdown
C for 984, medium reset(major adv.)
[far]5b,2b,2c,6c followups
All spins connect, but med/heavy reset. Light does 936, far knockdown.
SP roll, 1059 and far knock down
SP axe for 981, 1/2 screen knockdown

[Pre-dash cancel chain] Still need to find this-George’s dash cancel movement is not too great IMO.

[Using SP 2]
SP 2 is a reset, which gives you advantage (enough time for George to reach full height on a standard neutral jump before another George jumps). From SP2, you can connect a crouching B clear before they crouch, but the button must be presssed practically immediately afterwards. If you see them going for an invincible reversal, and you have enough meter to burn, meta them. You can connect SP2 after either of above bnbs, as well off of any far knock down if the combo is done~1/2 screen away.

[The one-eyed reset]
Any time you land a C on an airborne opponent, they are usually in range to land one of the axekicks on them an instant after they land, as an overheard. Be warned, however-it CANNOT crossup. If you have the meter spare, you can also dash cancel and set up a three way mixup (2b or 2c for standing guard, 5a for mashers, throw for crouching guard).

[Divekicks]
Always blocked high, from wall only. Only A is good for crossing up opponents, always to the quarter circle away from the character. SP goes fullscreen, all knockdown.

[Blockstrings]
-Crouching
2a,2a,2b,2c [slight advantage]
-Standing
[close]5a(x4),light spin or medium spin [practically even]
[far]5b,5c,medium spin [slight adv]

[OTGs]
-Meterless, 2a(2a again on larges),2b,2c or 3c usually does it. In the corner, SP roll can be comboed into, but only after a C move connects.

[Be warned]
-George is like Bread-stale or rotten Georges easily get trashed. Mixups and traps are key.
-You will hate defensive touches.
-If stuck outside of range, qcf+tag or SP divekick or rolls can get you back in. As George, you need to be inside.
-This isn’t everything to George-I only know so much, feel free to mess around and correct me.

I’ll post more about more characters if desired, and when I learn some more.

SP 2 is not a reset. Actually advantage from SP2 is enough to connect full BnB using dash cancel: 66~B. Its very useful in OMK.

Red.: ok its rather hard to do 66~cB because of long pause and Georgetriche’s 6+A\B\C but there is 66~3B which works same way.

I meant reset in the sense that it returns your opponent to a standing state, as opposed to setting both players to neutral frames and both standing.

Would it help if I changed it to ‘forced stand’?

Sounds like JoJoBa term. Actually I don’t know how to call George’s super in one word.

Also I’ve been beaten in OMKX in very embarrassing way: lesson of the day Super & meta stocks management is vital vs Ronove+Erika.

I’ve heard Lordofultima use it in his E. Ryu vids to describe the act of bringing a crouching opponent to standing via an attack, but I suppose I’ll find a term for it later.

Ouch. With Erika, attack touching the reversal trigger usually gets the job done (or, if they mess up the reversal, some form of DEATH), but I got nothing on Ronove.

By the way, quick question to combo vid makers - Why always from 5/5/full meta? Perhaps it’s because I’m from a different camp of thought, but I thought the sensible thing would have been to work from the ground up. But whatever, I guess.

Combo videos are different from tutorial videos. Especially in a game like this where having the resources to do what would actually be a fancy combo is pretty difficult.

And youtube user Xpiova is the first out with a 100% Combo featuring who else but Black Battler!

I highly suggest checking out his other combos as well.

And through nicovideo, we are treated to the site’s first batch of more proper quality matches.

Granted, they aren’t particulary close matches, but there’s still some good play to see.

And here is one match that I originally passed on uploading due to the video quality,
but eventually decided to up anyways since there’s some good play in there.

And a newer match, the video quality didn’t improve, but their game quite noticeably did.

Some guy posted this tier list in the 4chan thread last night. Said it was taken from 2ch, but he didn’t say if it was some general consensus or just some random dude’s list, so take it with a grain of salt.
S: Black Battler, Kanon, George
A: Ange, Lucifer, Eva-Beatrice, Dlanor
B: Virgilia, Beatrice, Rosa, Erika
C: Ronove, Jessica, Shannon, Battler
D: Siesta

I think it’s still too early for making tier lists. Obviously that the game will be patched soon.
And I think that team based game must have team based tier lists:
Erika+Ronove in meta world = 3x damage for counter hits + EVERY HIT IS A COUNTER HIT. (btw what exactly counterhit does in OMKX?)
Siesta+some chars make insane ammount of guarcrushes (and without her you will struggle to do 3rd GC in a match). I don’t know why she is rated so low; maybe because her shots has long startups.

The players are good but the game still looks lackluster.

Siesta+Dlanor. Dlanor’s B and C do an INSANE amount of guard damage if blocked. She can completely fill your guard break meter in like 6 C attacks, not including Siesta’s boost.

Siesta’s main drawback compared to all the other characters with projectiles is that she’s the only character in the game where the projectile disappears if she gets hit. She doesn’t get free combo breakers like the others do.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that Black Battler is top tier. Personally, I think Shannon is crazy good because her zoning is really really difficult to get past. Due to the way the offensive dash with D works, even if you break through the first barrier and tag her, she can put a full screen barrier as you’re charging in to break the zoning, leading to the incoming character immediately getting nailed by it. Free combo breaks with seagulls and having one of the best anti airs in the game isn’t laughable either.

I think its not the point. In OMKX many projectiles don’t disappears if its owner gets hit. But there is only a one or two which actually force you to stop combo and block a projectile (or use a throw). And if Siesta would has “indestructible” arrows she would be OP for sure.
I think she lack actual combos.
*She can’t fire more than one arrow in the air and any j236 besides j236A push her back too much.
*Her 214\63214 arrows has too low hitstun so you need an effort to setup it & actually get extended combo (which damage don’t worth it).

Other than a pretty terribad Erika, quite the decent match.

And we finally got a new batch,
this time with matches that are very much worth a watch
(even though the 1st one isn’t that exciting, it quickly escalates as the matches go on)!
