The one time we’ve seen him managing to break it is against eva-beatrice, which gives us the 1998 events, but since he didn’t really win against beatrice they are stuck in the game again.
Wasn’t the meta world also part of that woman story? At last the meta world version of her is. But that would make much considering the original letters from “Maria”

While Lucifer’s playstyle looks the most fitting for me,
