Story arcs only appeal to the hardcore fans of the series, and deals very little on how the game-play will turnout (only the characters). So saying the fanbase is going to make the game worse when we have no other game to judge it by is just idiotic.
The quality of the game I’m seeing is up to par or even surpasses Arc System Works in my opinion. For a little indie game company of three people doing this is really impressive. There is a lot new ideas in this game and character specific gimmicks that could keep people that actual play fighters hooked.
now you are trolling, it doesnt matter if its really your opinion or not :nono:
animation wise and on sprite quality its not near yet, dont exagerate
I don’t think the fanbase is going to make the game worse. I’m just saying you can’t depend solely on the Umineko fanbase for the longevity of Ougon Musou. (Umineko is nowhere near the hit that Tsukihime is, even though it does quite well for a doujin game.) I personally think the game looks interesting on its own merits and hope that it does well.

Oh, I see, in this forum if it doesn’t have a = then it won’t work. Thanks.
I do not believe that this game is made only by the core three guys (actually BT is deceased). Fighting games are just so out of their element. There is no hint on who ninja coded this game. Strong contenders are from Tasofro (least), French-Bread (maybe), and Arcsys (probably).
Honestly, indie fighting game quality of this caliber is unprecedented. But you must take into thought most first game of a series and most likely first game of a totally new fighter is bound to have glitches, doujin and commercial alike.

It’s not hard to tell Lucifer’s gonna be one of the most played characters.
Yup Lucifer’s going to be hella mained. Even I decided I wanted to main her from looks alone as well. :shake:
And shiyet. CMV material already?
Oh look, the exact hypothetical metaworld situation I mentioned yesterday XD

So it goes
-1 stock for metaworld activation
-2 stocks for canceling it
-2 stocks for canceling the cancel and reactivating it
-3 stocks for canceling the reactivation
RE: The Lucifer video
I think it’s interesting how dash canceling uses the tagging meter instead of a stock or something else.
“6 ANNIE MAY PICTURES IN A ROW… THIS GAME IS SHIT!”
Sillyness aside, but I wonder how often this would happen if two people actually know what they’re doing? If you ask me, this is somewhat of a momentum breaker.
This shit is on some CvS2 CC mind game level. x10.
It actually fits for the series though via Battler/Beatrice trying to counter each other’s guesses/lies.
what is this metaworld countering shit and how is it remotely interesting rather than just being a dumb artificial introduction of a ‘mind game’
Mostly it’s denying them their bonus.
Hooray artificial meter mindgames.
i think u are really cool i like to raed this post over and over in my head
i too like my meters organic and locally grown
And their metaworld special (Beato’s towers for example), and maybe their cancel, I couldn’t really tell if Battler could’ve continued the combo after getting his activation canceled.
Oh, and I just noticed that the third activation only gives you back half of your metaworld meter, so in the end even if you couldn’t deny them that, at least it gives them less time to make use of the benefits.
Yeah man, “Do I want to spend meter to deny them this?” is so artificial

Has anyone else seen the new system section on the webpage? There’s some stuff that I don’t think we had seen before. I’ll do a list of the important things there.
General stuff
-Game uses 3 attack buttons, one Touch button, and an Appeal button (seems to be a taunt).
-Doing an Appeal slightly recovers HP.
-There are 3 lifebars and no second round, so if you get KO’d that’s it.
-Press all attack buttons to activate the metaworld.
-You can high jump, dash cancel, tech throws, and tech your falls.
Touch
-Switches characters and reduces your Break Gauge and stun.
-There are 5 kinds of Touching.
-Normal Touch: The active character taunts and switches with his/her partner. Activates the ability of the character that tagged out and costs no SP.
-Attack Touch: Touch during an attack, and your partner comes in with an attack to continue attacking. No SP needed.
-Guard Touch: Touch while guarding to switch characters while blocking. Uses 1 SP.
-Damage Touch: Touch while getting hit to break the combo, send the opponent flying back to the other side of the screen and switch characters. Uses 2 SP.
-Assault Touch: Qcf+Touch to do an invincible “tackle” that switches characters and knocks down the opponent. Uses 2 SP.
Meta World (if any of the names sound weird blame Google)
-As said before, it’s activated by pressing all attack buttons.
-Activates both of your characters’ abilities and allows you to use your meta special for no cost while it’s active.
-Meta Declaration: Uses 1 SP and requires the Meta Gauge to glow red.
-Meta Return: Used after a declaration, uses 2 SP and depletes the opponents Meta Gauge.
-Meta Redeploy: Used after a return to activate the meta world again, uses 2 SP and reduces your Meta Gauge by 25% of what it originally was.
-Meta Surrebutal: Used after a redeploy, uses 3 SP to deplete the Meta Gauge again.
-Meta Forcing: Used after a surrebutal, uses 2 SP to activate the meta world again and reduces your Meta Gauge by 50% of what it originally was.
Character Abilities
-Activated with a Normal Touch or with the Meta World.
-Ushiromiya Battler: “Resurrection”, slightly recovers HP over time.
-Beatrice: “Infinity SP”, it’s pretty much what it sounds like.
-Ushiromiya Ange: “Stun Boost”, increases the stun of your attacks.
-Lucifer: “Attack Touch” use Attack Touches without consuming your Touch Gauge.
-Shannon: “Auto Guard”, exactly what it says.
-Kanon: “Silent Attack”, reduces the SP your opponent gets from your attacks.
-Virgilia: “Brimful”, increases the SP of both of your characters.
-Ronove: “Counter Boost”, increases the damage of counter hits.
-Eva Beatrice: “Berserk”, increases your attack power.
-Siesta/Chiester 410: “Break Boost”, increases guard break damage.
Other than the usual basic stuff I think that’s pretty much it.
