So, this may be a bitter pill to swallow but HQ is closed until April 12th. The fucking shithead electrician is for some reason extending it for two weeks, even though all the drilling’s been done. After that, we have no time frame on how long they’ll take to plaster all the holes. And even after that, my vacation starts from the 31st until April 8th.

Anyone who has a membership shouldn’t worry, as it’ll just count for April’s time.

Hmm, are dual mods still a desirable thing? I know I have a line up that’s been delayed for who knows how long but these babies are being released and make conversions a lot easier.

Sorry, I meant to reply to this before and I agree, I think people would like a capture card. However, I’m a little hesitant to agree to this without a decent internet upstream. I plan on getting a DSL line but the house is only able to support the 6M/800k on it. We can stream in 480p if we’re lucky but that’s really it. Once the internet connection pans out, we can look into our options for the capture card.

Of course, we can always record then upload but I think a couple of us already have that ability. Amir has his Happauge and James has his AverMedia.

Is anyone opposed to HQ having a couple of PS360+s stockpiled for future use?

One more thing. When HQ opens again, I’ll try and see if I can get the weights removed.

And one more thing. I think I can get a PS3 or two in HQ. The Tekken guys don’t have to lug their stuff around anymore!

Streaming is a waste of money for HQQ. Who the fuck is gonna watch a bunch of scrubs play games poorly? No one. At all. Hell barely anyone watches RXS’ streams and he’s probably the most succesful in Canada. Get a capture device, ala james, and record matches/post to HQQYoutubeAccount

It would run every time HQ is up, so any matches played on the stream station would be recorded and a bunch of practice matches can be played. And if you can’t make it to HQ, you can see how your friendly scrubs are scrubbing it up.

The missing pieces for the stream are the internet connection and the capture card. I’m getting the internet connection regardless and we have a capture solution from Amir for now.

but… not even hqq scrubs will watch other hqq scrubs play… not live anyways. If we have a recording thing, we could record in much nicer quality, and have a dedicated youtube account, instead of having shitty archives on twitch/justin/whatever

While the streaming idea is a nice luxury, I think it’s better to just capture and upload on Youtube or whatever. It’s a little bit more work having to edit (maybe) and upload, but it beats having to sift through a couple hours of footage to look for specific matches in a 2+ hour long archive that in all probability will have no one watching anyway.

Well I have no idea what that is, but Im assuming from jamals reply that its a capture card. To that I answer yes, I would love for HQ to have a capture card so we can record them MM’s proper(no offense to tak and his voyeur skills.)
