Cough
…actually I’m the best when it comes to Tekken Tag. :wgrin:

This article is retarded. Apart from the obvious holes in the majority of the so called “contradictions”, this article has a clear hatred for any attempt at scientific discovery. This is emphasized by calling the discovery of tensors ‘fringe mathematics’, or calculus ‘deeply flawed’ solely because of the existence of infinitesimals.

The author is also clearly uneducated. “The theory of gravity violates common sense in many ways. Adherents have a hard time explaining, for instance, why airplanes do not fall,” is clearly a statement delivered by someone with no knowledge of physics whatsoever. I mean, she clearly stated that the electromagnetic force could be responsible for gravitational effects completely oblivious to the fact that we would all have to be charged for this to work, and would therefore all be electrically repulsed by one another, or fly off of the face of the earth.

It’s one thing to question popular scientific belief. It’s another to state “And even children can see how ridiculous it is to imagine that people in Australia are upside down with respect to us, as gravity theory would have it,” and have any credibility left to debate. She seriously thinks the world isn’t spherical? Wow…

At least I know how Bush got votes.

omg. on monday you were TOO SCARED TO PLAY me Traian. Damn gypsy peasent!

MiddleKingpin John is my witness! He was there to my right, playing X-Men VS SF when you rejected my offer to play! I even thought about paying for your quarter to play me! You even said, “But you play cheap” to which I said, “Well, it’s the game.” You then lied, saying you play T5 on Fridays. I know for a fact that this never happens because all they play on Fridays is KOF and weird Japanese games that no one has EVER heard of except people who download them for free from “I AM A PIRATE.com” . Know your place, gypsy.

peasant is spelled with an A.

You really are a jerk aren’t you?

for the moment… I am utterly non-functional, khiem thanks to the pain and numerous drugs I am on after the wisdom teeth extraction…

Great article… thought the author blended a nice mixture of zealot style writing with the right amount of a slight mocking tone throughout…

“It is safe to say that without the Theory of Gravity, there would be no talk about a ?Big Bang,? and important limitations in such sports as basketball would be lifted. This would greatly benefit the games and enhance revenue as is proper in a faith-based, free-enterprise society.”

“It is not even clear why we need a theory of gravity – there is not a single mention in the Bible, and the patriotic founding fathers never referred to it.”

“Finally, the mere name ?Universal Theory of Gravity? or ?Theory of Universal Gravity? (the secularists like to use confusing language) has a distinctly socialist ring to it. The core idea of ?to each according to his weight, from each according to his mass? is communist. There is no reason that gravity should apply to the just and the unjust equally, and the saved should have relief from such ?universalism.? If we have Universal Gravity now, then Universal health care will be sure to follow. It is this kind of Universalism that saps a nation’s moral fiber.”

we shshshshshsh shift shape.
and we make shshshshsh shit shake… and so forth.

KKKriz. ill call you after work. around 5 i hope you are awake by then… fuck.

Just because he’s white don’t mean he wears sheets… hater…

The opening line is right in many ways; although I have a problem with the argument being concluded preempively for an article such as this. That automatically makes it’s nature flawed, but it can still be thoughtful from within.

All physics book should contain that warning label, and it should be the most emphasized point in science. Otherwise, you have what we have today - science being organized religion; despite how many times this was warned about from so many top scientific and philosophical minds in the past. Right from the get-go people, when kids, are institutionalized with these ideas and concepts as truth, all within a mind training environment. This leads to minds opening up the subconscious, coupled with it providing so many “answers”/ego…and there you have your programmed public. Remember that people in control decide what to put in those books, how to word it, what to leave out, etc.

“The Universal Theory of Gravity is often taught in schools as a ?fact,? when in fact it is not even a good theory.”

Fantastic point… coupled with a biased conclusion. This can’t be a way to construct an argument…it’s slander. All this is going to do is generate similar response from the opposing side existing within the same mindset. I mean the notion that it is not a ‘good theory’ is kind of funny because this article fails to describe what a ‘good’ theory is (it mentions the Bible, heh, but the Bible makes assertions or ‘divine’ statements, not theories). Realistically, at this point in time, it’s a pretty damn good theory regardless of it’s flaws or if it’s completely off because we have nothing that can compare to it’s solidarity (realistic, not scientific (since this is now misrepresented…).

The rest of the article continues to bring some questions, that I think should be asked or analyzed more, but it then shits all over itself by making obscene assertions (going back to Bible’s version of the creator) that contradict the opening quote/label it suggested at the beginning.

I mean, you would hope that these people could take that doctrine and then apply it to their beloved Bible. It’s not like there isn’t a ton of historical knowledge about this book that exposes it’s misleading nature. Don’t get me wrong, the symbolic representation in the Bible makes it one of the most truthful books I’ve ever read (probably the most), but clearly it seems like it was written with many hidden motives and the literal embracement of it’s physical references is extremely dangerous.

So clearly I think this article is of malicious intent, but there’s always some truth to take from something. I enjoy the idea of questioning everything and many openings to sentences are great…the article just falls on it’s face with the other end of the sentences, contradicting the premise. Another refreshing thing about it, is that it’s *like *so many ‘scientific’ articles I’ve read and I’m glad to see the other side of the doctrine more - it makes me believe that people might realize how fucking stupid both sides are. This is just one side in the battle of organized beliefs…it’s kind of funny to observe and there’s always something to take from it.

Ahmed: there is a part in there for you.

Sakura wake ups. O your going to block… Hurgh!!!

hip hop karakoe tonight… now you can all clap.

Anyways. The reason I didn’t want to play you is because I’m not really interested in the game. And I actually do play T5 sometimes on Fridays. Lately people didn’t really bring it down, however, just because you don’t know about it doesn’t mean that it don’t happen. If you want me to show you whose the best come down this Friday and play me 3/5 in Tekken Tag. I’ve been nice enough… I guess it’s really time for me to teach you kid a lesson… in humility :annoy:

And don’t call me a peasant. I got far more school then you, more bitches than you, and even more game knowledge than you… even though I don’t make video games my life :arazz:

i’ll bring t5 on friday

Whats the deal for today?

I want to get some games in, possibly go out and shit.

We need to start getting hype for this tourney! Mtl and Roger’s car, err TO, will be expecting something big.

I’ll be at the cave around 7ish 8ish

or not, I dunno

I agree that Science shouldn’t be taken at face value anymore than religion should be, and I also agree that the article falls flat on its face and lost all/any credibility due to questionable motives.

That’s life eh?

I don’t get what makes the scientific community stupid though…

Science, by it’s definition, is not stupid. It can be flawed, absolutely. Science is limited by the available information, but uses what information it can to form a logical conclusion. Like it or not, the most die hard bible thumper is still a scientist. “Hmm if the lord damns me for not going to church on Sundays, than I have to go the church on Sundays.” Cause and effect.

What’s my point?

Well, scientists are people (just like soylent green) and they think in a lot of different ways. Some of them only believe what has been proven through science thus far. I think of these people as the opposite of as the faith driven bible fact person. I think they both miss the point that there is still a lot that we don’t know, there are still plenty of questions left to answer about all sorts of things. By that same token, there are still “facts” that we should questions and even challenge. I never really understood gravity personally, but I know that it exists. I mean, what is this constant force that keeps things on the ground? Why? If space was like a blanket, and if stars and planets are like marbles, it makes sense that smaller marbles would tumble towards the bigger ones since they make a deeper impression, but if space if 360x360 degrees, then how does that work? If space is basically just a vacuum, then what is the blanket?

Am I the only one that took it as a satire to zealot style preaching?

Normally i would stay away from comments you make but you mentioned my shit so you brought me into this.

I have no idea about the exchance between you and Trian all i know is

  1. they do play Tekken on Fridays i know because i go and i see them and i play.

  2. You really dont get it do you? you know why we play all those obscure games on friday evenings?? its not about winning or loosing man its about friends having fun its about dropping oil tankers on each other, its about twin sister cheapness (if you dont know check PLA’s avatar), its about screaming cause someone jabbed you out of a perfect with Darun (nooroyaaaa!) its about Gengero Neo geo battle colliseum its about shinobi dying for the 1st time on stage 6 then quitting the game, its about “ok stop for a second fuck… where is my fierce!!!” its about: "god whos config is this… shoulder mids???.. where u from Nigeria"
people enjoying themselves. So to you my man i give a big fuck you cause you dont get it and you never will. Don’t ever again mention our friday nights cause until you understand the reasoning behind it you are not welcome.

You are standing on dangerous ground.

Dude, the “peasant” thing was just a joke to counter your gypsy “king” thing.

Holy cow happy valentines day

From now on this thread will be about quoting spaceballs.

How many assholes we got on this ship?

I am heading to the cave. Anyone who wants to defend their Kingship should play me in Tekken.
