[details=Spoiler]Civil War #7 Spoilers.

Fuck Steve Rogers. What is this? The 2nd time he used dirty tactics to take down Iron Man.

I was actually hoping to see Captain America put his life on the line to fight Iron Man. But no. He borrows help from Vision and clubbed an incapacitated Iron Man like a baby seal.

And since when does Iron Man’s armor shatter so easily? I distinctly reading an issue where Iron Man’s armor was offline but was durable enough to wishstand an oil barge being thrown ontop of him. [/details]

buys Annihilation vol. 1 HC instead

very good choice. you won’t be dissapointed. as far as cw goes, yea the ending sucked, but at least i got to see cap beating on iron tool.

Civil War is over! Wheee!

Civil War #7

[details=Spoiler]I’m not entirely sure what to think of the ending. On one hand, the lack of death in a conflict of this scale almost feels cheap. I don’t give a fuck about RoboThor. Goliath is the only real death in the entire event. And Cap’s surrender was really anti-climatic. But, honestly, it was totally in character. When continuing the fight means endangering civillians, there’s no way Cap could possibly keep fighting. And as for the “fighting dirty” thing, it made perfect sense. Cap was willing to die for the cause, but that doesn’t mean he’s gonna jump headfirst to his death like a retard. Anyway, like it or not, the comic did what it set out to do: it completely changed the status quo of the Marvel universe. Let’s see where they go from here.

Oh, and Agent Hill = PUNKED. Best part of the comic.[/details]

Vibranium is very special but, it is jarring to see Iron Man get bitched out like that. I suppose it was done for dramatic purposes.

Since when can captain actually hit *that *hard with the edge of his shield? With the strength he was showing in Civil War #7, Captain America should have been decapitating fools with his shield in the past.

so were all of the “fallen son” solits a big red herring?

You know what you are guys saying are really making me uneasy now. Oh well, but what is pissing me off is that now there is “The Initiative” I mean Jesus christ, is this shit necessary!!? I already have just about all of the CW with the exception of February CW’s. Who is Marvel fooling, they mind as well make Civil War a year long instead of this Initiative crap! I have to place some thought into it and also the same goes for WWH.

For Example: Here is February

February
CIVIL WAR: FRONT LINE #11
CIVIL WAR POSTER BOOK
IRON MAN #15
NEW AVENGERS #27
THUNDERBOLTS #110 2ND PRINTING VARIANT
THUNDERBOLTS #111

March
CIVIL WAR: THE INITIATIVE
BLACK PANTHER #26
CAPTAIN AMERICA #25
CIVIL WAR: BATTLE DAMAGE REPORT
CIVIL WAR: THE CONFESSION
FANTASTIC FOUR #544
IRON MAN #16
MARVEL SPOTLIGHT:
CIVIL WAR AFTERMATH
MIGHTY AVENGERS #1
MS. MARVEL #13
NEW AVENGERS #28
THUNDERBOLTS #112

This “Initiative” keeps on going until July. Why do i have a feeling that this is not going to stop

When the hell is Thor comin back?

The Initiative isn’t so much another crossover or more “Civil War” as it is the necessary followup to Civil War’s end. Each comic will be self-contained, rather than part of a single event, like Civil War tie in’s, and quite frankly, there are some major changes in the Marvel U as a result of this, and we are going to see these changes reverberate for a long time, like it or not. Consider The Initiative as Marvel’s “One Year Later”. Rather than a crossover event, it’s a display of the results of Civil War on the various characters.

World War Hulk is gonna be the shit.

It’s official. Annihilation ending >>>>>>>>>>>> Civil War ending. Hell, Annihilation > Civil War.

I’m about 2 weeks behind in books so what I’ve read so far -

Justice - Picked up the hardcover since I missed the single issues. This book is sexy! Only read the first issue of the book.

Spider-Man Family - I only checked out the Spider-Man manga from Japan, Spider-Man J. Ryoichi Ikegami’s Spider-Man manga is a hell of a lot better, J is way too kid friendly even for my tastes. Well so far.

Wolverine Origins - Another old Wolvie baddie returns, fun but I think Wolvie’s son is just a tad… how to say this… Brokeback?

Morrison Batman - This one has a few pics and is mostly dialog, like a book. Damn Morrison is crazy, haven’t read this one either yet…

MC HAMMER: STOP! SPOILER TIME!

Renee Montoya is gonna become The Question? Interesting. She should go all spanish and call herself “La Pregunta!”

Spider-Man books

Spoiler

Huh? Are they trying to tell me that Aunt May is dead? Spidey sure is NOT acting like he lost the woman who represents his mother in any of the other back in black books or New Avengers. Is there a one year gap going on here that I’m missing? Well it could also be a trick and the bullet just grazed her… I kind of wish they delayed all Spider-Man books because of Civil War lateness OR had guest artists and writers do ‘filler’ storylines until everything got up to speed because this is all kind of strange. I mean, if Aunt May doesn’t die it doesn’t really matter. We shall see…

Other stuff -

What the heck was Stan Lee doing on Heroes? Dude gets around… That girl who plays Niki on Heroes is going to be in the next Resident Evil movie, saw her in the trailer. Saw Ghost Rider the movie, it was okay but could of been better. Mephisto and Blackheart were kind of bootleg compared to their comic book counterparts, but I went in expecting that.

Back to reading…

Damn, I feel kind of behind everyone else in the comic world. Right now i’m in the process of reading Daredevil:born again, and I just finished reading Frank Miller’s first run on Daredevil as well. So far its too damn good. Cant wait to get up to the recent stuff in VOL. 2 of DD

And the Muramasa blade.

EDIT:Which comic explains what Penance/Robbie Baldwin does between turning into Penance and being a member of The Thunderbolts? All of a sudden I go from reading “It’s time for Penance” to seeing him on the Thunderbolts cover as part of the team.

so i just got done reading civil war 7.

even as epic final battles go… civilwar 7 had the potential to be one of the greatest marvel battles ever. but even the fights were just eh.

Spidey was awesome as always, Cloak is cemented in my top 5 favorite heroes. But cap…

Cap was the biggest disapointment. we damaged the city… weeping "I’m stuck in a glass case of emotiooon"
it’s like stand down men even though we managed to rally namor and some atlaneans which totally tipped the scales in our favor… we destroyed a few city blocks… like we’ve done several times before.

LAME

^Truth.

Cap is the great unifier. People usually go to him, and this whole deal has seen him make a lot of OOC decisions. Mark Millar can kiss my ass.

You can’t really blame Cap though. On one hand i really wanted him and his side to win and he came so close to puttin the final nail in the coffin on Tony but then when u think about it, Cap felt as though he was fighting for the people’s freedom but at the same time here he is destroying the city while fightin it out with the registration side.
I dunno thats my opinion but i felt the ending was forced somewhat. Some how though i think once something big happens, Tony is gonna come crawling back Cap for help.

Hulk.

Exactly. Banner is going to eat them.

After She-Hulk finds out how the Illuminati puked the Hulk she is going to go kick Iron Man’s ass Marvel revealed. That will prolly kick off World War Hulk.

And I guess no one is going to find out about Iron Man blowing up an entire airplane of passengers by mistake that he covered up which was far worse than the Stamford incident. Well they won’t find out for a while anyway…

Anyone think Agent Hill would do it?

Probably Frontline 11 and future T-Bolts issues. I think Ellis has a story in one of the post-CW issues about it, but I forgot wich.
