Actually, the interwebs say execution is death after a judicial process and has nothing to do with being armed. Still wrong usage by Ventura, but his point is valid. Forget the judicial process when America needs a distraction from the shitty economy, amirite?
If was indeed armed then no he doesn’t have a valid point. If he was unarmed then yes he does.
You’re talking about self defense, or possibly “murder.” Ventura is talking about OBL’s death and lack of a trial (i.e. the definition of Execution) being against American principles.
edit: I think I see what you meant. But I still wouldn’t say the use of deadly force due to the presence of a gun is justification for lack of trial. That’s a very slippery slope.
Yeah, I once met a bus driver with a SEALs tattoo. I asked about it and it turns out he was actually a member. Aside from being the nicest bus driver I’ve ever met, he also had that "I can kill you eleven different ways from where I’m sitting " look about him.
The combination of secrecy about their methods and the desire to not provoke revenge attacks means we probably won’t see a damn thing. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, people aren’t told shit all about what their armies are doing these days. Hell, they didn’t even tell us that there were no WMDs in Iraq. Hmmm… I think they alluded to it though. What did they say, exactly?
white house said today he wasn’t armed and didn’t use a woman as a human shield
also remember that Jesse Ventura was a Navy SEAL. The man knows.
I still say they could have done more to actually arrest him. Killing a dude and tossing him the ocean looks bad on America
So they still have not shown the body? If not, I do not believe shit. Sorry its just me. We can believe anything on television.
If you don’t take their word for it, then what good would showing the body be? If they’re willing to lie about it, they’re willing to fabricate photographs.
No they couldn’t, raw film shows actual tactics and the actual resolution and details of our optics. Both are extremely classified. Unless you want to plaster “these are our abilities, these are our technical limits, and this is how we do things” over every single member of DEVGRU they can’t do it. End of story. Hence why any sort of “feed” you get is going to be classified as secret or top secret and if it ever comes out scrubbed down so grainy and so fragmented you can’t tell what the hell is going on.
Man just imagine…SEALs in general are godlike, but i cant imagine The best of the best of SEALs.
I really hope the white house release the photo of him shot.
Ron Paul’s opinion on the matter
?You could say, this has produced a lot of positive points for Obama, but we?re still doing what bin Laden wanted us to do?. and this is to stay there, and drain ourselves, drain our Military, get distension going in our Country, and bankrupt our Country. Those are his stated? were his stated goals. He?s been laughing at us for a long time. And maybe he?s going to have [the] last laugh, because if my assumptions are correct, and we don?t come home, the bankruptcy is going to march on. And we?re gonna suffer from it??
?Why does our Government invite Conspiracy Theories all the time? I mean, why didn?t they show us pictures? No one questions Saddam Hussein?s death. They showed us pictures?? and I have a medical question, trying to confirm the timing. You know, I understand he was killed Sunday afternoon and by Sunday 9:00 it was announced that the President would speak, and they had DNA proof of the individual. To my knowledge, I didn?t know they could do DNA proof that quickly. Then they came back and they said well, we have facial features and we?ll get the results of the DNA later. It?s that confusion, and just hate to talk about it in detail until we know more about the information.?
Ron Paul on the Death of Osama bin Laden’
I do find it weird how they were really open with Saddam and yet not with Osama.
Paul’s understanding contradicts the facts of the official story, which states that they sat on the information until they could confirm bin Laden’s identity.
That, my good sir, depends entirely upon the categorical accuracy of the term “facts”.

Ron Paul is still crazy.
As for Saddam vs Osama, not the same at all from a military target standpoint, here is why.
Saddam was a head of state and a former military officer. Osama was just a plebe, he held no state status and no military status. That makes him free game for legal assassination, killing in combat, and other issues. It also denies him the rights an actor of the state or the military would have.
That’s the first part, here is the second.
As Saddam was the head of government and a general, his crimes were crimes against humanity and war crimes. These are held by a special set of rules. He could be tried by his own people in a national court, or shipped off to the Hague and tried there, the result would have been the same. None the less, his crimes were actionable crimes under law, and due to his position. Osama is not the same animal. He is not a member of any uniformed service, nor is a a member of any governing state. His crimes boil down to criminal, or terrorist. He is not entitiled to the rules of a state member or a military member because he is neither. He is handled like any other criminal lunatic and a dangerous one like that.
Nor does he get a trial in the Hague as a war criminal because… what fucking war? And how would he be tried in his home country (who didn’t even want the damn body) because he commited no crimes in there, and they can’t try him for crimes on other soils because it’s not their issue and he wasn’t an acting member of their armed services. I guess we could “in theory” let Pakistan (lol) try a Saudi national, for crimes committed against the US (there were others I know), while in Afganistan… or you starting to get how stupid that all sounds?
Saddam was an Iraqi statesman and Iraqi general. Tried by the people in Iraq for crimes done in Iraq. Justice was done according to the law and within the system that rules such things. Osama was a Saudi committing crimes against many nations while moving in and out of many nations, and was hunted down and killed since he was out of any realm of legal issues. Obama, Bush, Navy, and CIA, did the right thing. It sucks, but that’s why we have this ability. Even if you don’t like it, be glad it exists.
Ron Paul’s greatest and perhaps sole flaw as a politician is that he tells the truth, no matter how ugly or unpalatable it may be.

Of course. I am all too aware that the best information we have to go by is the say-so of those members of the U.S. government who were privy to the mission.
Therein lies the rub. It’s not terribly great evidence, but, in the absence of compelling evidence to the contrary, it is the best information we have to go by.
To paraphrase Obi-Wan Kenobi, this is the foundation of many of the truths we cling to.
I’d say racsim, xenophobia, wanting to get government into women vaginas, and his gold craze are far larger problems. You want a good libertarian, look up the former governor of New Mexico, I hear here is running.
To hit on this, look up any conspiracy. Area-51, bombing range and test range, you can get on it. NSA, No Such Agency, has giant signs leading to it and a website to apply. NRO, ditto. For this “zomg seal team six does not exist”. DEVGRU has buildings and recruits openly. You can get a tour of the White House or the Pentagon, my ex used to visit me at the later.
Or, you might fall into “the moon landing was staged, jews, lizzard people, illuminati, mason’s” group, in which case, I don’t know what to say.
Seal Team Six exists…
