Holy fuck, do you keep ignoring the fact of all the people this country has killed because of US foreign policy and as such people retaliated for it. Do they deserve to die? No, but because of the people’s support of past foreign policy the terrorist can justify such crap and have every right to do so.
You do have a point. My original point to fishjie is that this country supports foreign policy on the same scale the Taliban did if not worse. Rather than flying jets or running people into buildings, we supported and armed dictators, we support regimes that prevent aid to civilian casualties, invade and intervene in places we shouldn’t be in. Just because we hide it behind something doesn’t mean we aren’t as bad.
But let me rephrase one more time, as the message is not very clear. if you think we have the right to be in Afghan and Iraq, support current foerign policy, and rejoice at the death of Bin Laden, you also have to accept the death of innocent civilians is much worse than 9/11, you have to accept that the “terrorist” may also be in the right with thier “jihad” because of our transgression on them, and who are we to say we are the good guys and you are the bad guys.
BTW, there was and has been numerous reports of soldier’s saying that if an IED went off, or someone got shot, to start shooting in a 360 direction killing everybody. There where also reports that anybody caught with a weapon was to be shot, when in reality not everybody carrying a weapon was going to shot a soldier but use it as a defense weapon. America apparently forgot that there was a civil war going on between Shiites and Sunni in Iraq and some people just wanted to protect themselves and their families. so now they are bad people?
But that’s me, I’ve always been taught that just because I think im right, the majority agrees with me, or am doing something in the name of, it doesn’t necessarily make me right. And people need to realize that.
