Boomer followed instructions for once
Pot meet kettle.
Funny that noone comments on this, but if someone were to say “thats just crazy black/asian/mexican people” they would have jumped on him crying racist.
when they mentioned burial at sea, I pictured them just kicking the body over the railing, while sailing through shark infested waters
I think this bit of good news is essential. With all the bad shit going on in the world, I don’t see what’s wrong with taking some much-needed relief with some good news, even if it lasts only a moment.
You can’t drown yourself in sorrow/anger all the time, or you go insane. It doesn’t mean you’re naive for doing so, or ignoring suffering in general. I don’t know why we should feel guilty about feeling pleasure at least some of the time.
c’mon son you know black people are just as bad with it, don’t even pretend otherwise
It is slightly odd to see/hear the reaction from around the country. People celebrating in the streets like their city won the Super Bowl is just a weird thing to see.
I kinda find it a little sick in a way, but thats just me.
I’m really surprised that we are “burying” the body this early. I mean who is going to bitch? [aside from the Taliban and Osama’s boys] Pretty sure burial is a big thing for the Taliban, I would have just stuck his corpse on a pole and wave him around like a flag taunting the Taliban “COME AT ME BRO.”
Ugh… I apologize. After so long of this bastard hiding out apparently… in a FUCKING MANSION it feels so empty that he got snuffed out so randomly. Was sort of hoping some sort of Taliban crumbling when this sort of thing happened but I think I am being way to optimistic.
I agree about the economy, but I don’t think people are going to hold David Petraeus and Iraq/killing an old man hiding in a cave in the same regard that they held Dwight Eisenhower and WWII. Bush’s re-election also had to do with the fact he was in an incumbent in a “time of war” and Kerry failing to secure a strong democratic base because he didn’t want to offend moderates and independents. Whether Obama gets re-elected will depend on what happens in the next 18 months and who happens to run against him.
i do too. im all for justice n shit but come on…this is crazy. this is like sum shit when they talk about the start of the apocolypse in movies is the first sign of the end.
I just hope they dont use is as a way to forget about 9/11
there’s still some other lose ends
Meh, people can do whatever they want I suppose. All I know is that celebrating in the streets, wearing USA facepaint, and dancing around like your team just won the Super Bowl isn’t a good look for America.
Osama Bin Laden: world hide and seek champion 2001 - 2011
I vote we change the thread title to “Osama Bin Laden…IS DEAD.”
lol why did tekken 5 just pop into my head
That and the fact that those idiots are sitting back stroking themselves that Bin Ladin is gone like all of a sudden that’s ended everything. Yeah ok, not even considering there may indeed be retaliation for this, I think this shit’s just getting started.
We don’t look good when our teams win an NCAA tournament and people trash/burn/riot in the streets. We look like collective idiots post super bowl, we look like giant morons when we riot and destroy our own neighbor hoods because we hate the police.
This is nothing new, we have a long history of looking like idiots given half the chance.
When 9/11 happened and there was footage of the terrorists celebrating (firing guns into the air, celebrating in the streets, etc) over the deaths of 3,000 of our citizens, our government pretty much said, “orly? IT’S ON BITCH”. I don’t see why the terrorists won’t see the footage of USA facepaint-clad people dancing in the streets and say to themselves “get ready for 9/12”. Seriously, people need to step back and realize that killing Bin Laden =/= end of terrorism.
A sports team bringing a title to an area they represent in their respective sport and celebrating with their fans is totally comparable to celebrating the death of the man responsible for the deaths of thousands of people and the heartache and pain caused by it, imo.
