Orlando Thread: We Want More Dive Kicks!

Jebailey’s trying to start a jag-war. WORDPLAY

how does that have anything to do with you not wanting to play with the crew? go back and put your thoughts in the context of what i was saying and you SHOULD understand what i mean.

your a good player, never said you weren’t lol.

Hehehe I see what you did thar!

Nobody doubts your skill, Ed, but your role in the community is kind of limited by your nature as a hermit.

People don’t want you to show up just so that they can trot you out to beat up Tampa, people want you to show up so that it’s easier to learn from your example and share in your expertise. Playing against hyper-patient players like you who have such a command of spacing and footsies is a great way for everybody to level up, not just in the Adon matchup but in general. It’s hard to do that when your presence at gatherings is so heavily bound to that of John, Omare (not sure how you spell his name), Tekken Alex, etc.

Having people like you around on a regular basis is one of the most valuable assets in any scene. If somebody can learn how to go like 50% win/loss against you, chances are they learned something valuable about how to play the game in general as a consequence.

As it is, you’re kind of a self-contained entity. Nothing you do can really trickle down to/awaken anything dormant in the rest of us if you’re simply not there.

@BotageL, iShotto

Going to be sending you guys friend requests on your ps3 accounts if that’s ok. Name will be DarkCresent instead of FlameICE. Need to practice with peeps that have good connection.

I do. Gimmicky fucka suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. Plus that dude looks like a midget Wario.

i love terrible characters i am seriously considering learning BB for tsubaki

also i know their playstyles are very different but would you consider dora to be better than nezu?

Dude, I would not fuck with Wario. Crazy little Italian bastard.

Besides, you don’t get much better gimmicks than random shit like “patience” or “execution”, and my personal favorite “understanding perfectly how to counterpoke”. Fucking shenanigans is what it is.

Jyushinshuu: Tsubaki wouldn’t be half as terrible as she is if she actually did reasonable damage off her BnBs. Her blockstrings are lackluster, but even if people feed her counter hits trying to mash their way out, she still does crap for damage. She just has to choose way too often between charging and maintaining momentum; she can’t really do both and her big charge dump (Tsubaki Install) is horrendously inefficient compared to something like Hakumen’s Mugen. On the plus side, she’s probably looking at some serious buffs for the eventual balance patch, if Bang is any indication. Think of Tsubaki as investing in the future.

As for Bang players…Nezu is more technical, and wastes a lot less time trolling people he already outmatches like Dora does, but I don’t really think his hyper-technical approach is ultimately more efficient than Dora’s style (when Dora actually plays seriously).

FRKZ has some fun shit, but I don’t really see the point in sacrificing damage to build for it as your PRIMARY goal the way Nezu seems to. It’s merely a question of efficiency – why pass up free damage just to style extra hard in super anime mode? Just kill the son of a bitch and be done with it. Dora mostly trolls people because he knows that there’s no point in being flashy when bullshit will achieve the same or better results. That’s just applied pragmatism.

I just don’t really see any real ace-in-the-hole utility for FRKZ that Bang doesn’t already have except maybe against Taokaka, who’s kind of a bitch to chase down if she’s playing runaway with life lead. In that case I can kinda see where turning gold and activating your annoying theme song might actually offer you a leg up.

Go for it, I’m hoping the netcode will be somewhat more consistent within the same city. At least there’s no chance of matching me against 0-bar Japanese players repeatedly. Ever tried to dial your combos with half a second of lag? Okay, now try poking Noel out of D spam while dialing your combos with half a second of lag. WHEE-HAW!

You guys have to come to Tampa and get some of these hatecakes they are delicious.

lol, good stuff. Actually, I was kinda trolling and somewhat telling the truth. Most of the people in Orlando don’t like advice. Sure, they’ll listen to what you say, but never really implement it to their game. “Do whatever works” is the motto. Full-screen Bison slide, mashing crouching jab/short, random headbutts, is just a short list of things that works in Orlando but not in tournaments. Sure, you see tricks work in a Youtube video, but you don’t understand WHY it worked (Ed, Leland, Trent are the exception).

I’m not that good, but I do know I’m better than the Orlando scene because I study. A student of the game. Learned from Trent, Peter, and David that the most important thing in any fighter is to know the match-up. Never bragged about what I placed in tournaments, in fact, I always tell Lord how disappointed I am for not winning it all. For how much I know about SSFIV and win no tournaments? I say I’m down right awful, seriously. But the gap between casual play and the Orlando scene right now, air couldn’t go between it.

lololololol nice avy man lol

Orlando people,

We need T-Shirts…just sayin’.

You know something isn’t right when the Gainesville scene doesn’t seem much far behind Orlando… (no offense to anyone from Gainesville reading this)

It certainly doesn’t hurt

does anyone in gainesville even take the game seriously? when i left a few months ago ppl just played as a thing to do while hanging out

Best quote ever

Since Torrin’s Super Career has gone downhill, he attempted to begin a Dancing Career which didn’t take off. So now he’s back to Super.

Maybe this is more of Orlandos’ style

But it will definitely help…guys let’s get on this bandwagon and get Orlando T-Shirts.
We need a good motto or saying, and we’ll have the CEO logo on the back…
